We are kicking off a two-year grant project to restore water quality in China Lake in partnership with Kennebec County SWCD, Maine DEP, China Lake Association, China Region Lakes Alliance, Kennebec Water District, and the Towns of China and Vassalboro! The project is made possible in part through US EPA Section 319 Clean Water Act Funding. It's bound to be a busy summer of site visits- but I'm most excited about the Buffer Campaign!

Honored to be awarded Conservation Project Partner of the Year, along with stand-out EcoInstincts Project Scientist Katie Goodwin, for our work at Hogan & Whitney Ponds! Thanks to the Oxford County SWCD, Hogan-Whitney Ponds Association, the Town of Oxford, and DEP for helping build strong partnerships that have led to this important watershed protection work. #erosioncontrol #lakeprotection #communitycollaboration #cleanwater

"Taking steps" to protect lakes!
I love it when erosion control projects bring neighbors together! This group came together for a "Site Walk" today to review the Pine Point Road Gravel Road Management Plan developed by Maine Environmental Solutions in partnership with Ecological Instincts, the Town of Wilton and with funding from the Maine Drinking Water Program. The plan outlines six priorities and estimated costs for the landowners to work on over the next 5+ years which sets them up nicely for meeting with contractors and requesting future grant funding to complete the work. #lakeprotection
