About us
ECOR develops high-value recycling technologies and manufactures advanced green building materials. ECOR is a sustainable alternative to a range of traditional building materials including wood, mdf, foam board and cardboard. It is used by architects, designers, product developers for a range of applications including furniture and fixtures, interior decor, printed graphics, point of sale displays, commercial packaging, decorative wall panels and an array of building products. ECOR offers true competitive advantages over traditional materials, as it is designed to be lighter weight, higher performance, durable, clean (VOC-free), green (made from up to 100% recycled materials + recyclable) and ultimately cost less. Using ECOR instead of virgin materials also saves trees, reduces pollution and landfill waste. Integrated ECOR solutions uniquely provide enterprise, manufacturing and government partners a turn-key solution to recoup substantial revenues from their waste streams by creating a closed-loop system. These solutions are ideal for regional governments and manufacturers that want to engage in the circular economy, reduce their environmental impact and convert their waste into wealth. Are We Facing a Tipping Point in Carbon Absorption? 2023 has been recorded as the hottest year yet, and new research suggests we may be witnessing a collapse of natural carbon sinks. Land and ocean carbon absorption has plummeted, with forests, soil, and glaciers struggling to keep pace. Concerns are mounting over potential disruptions to the Gulf Stream, which could further impede ocean carbon absorption. While this disruption may be temporary, it underscores the urgency of nature-based solutions for achieving net zero. Without them, reaching this critical goal may be impossible. At ECOR Global, we are committed to providing innovative technology solutions that utilize waste as a raw material, reducing our reliance on forests. It’s time for a net zero “moonshot”—let’s make it happen! https://lnkd.in/e6rptcmy #ClimateAction #Sustainability #NetZero #ECORGlobal

Nine carbon removal start-ups are getting a boost from a recent $4.5 investment via advance payments for future credits. Alphabet, H&M Group, Match, Shopify and Stripe are paying $500,000 each to the nine companies to scale pilot and demonstration projects for their technologies. Upon reaching certain milestones, the companies will be considered for commercial contracts with Frontier, the buyers group co-founded by Alphabet, McKinsey, Meta, Shopify and Stripe . This is the fourth group of companies funded by Frontier via pre-purchase credits. Frontier’s previous funding has allowed companies like Holocene to advance technologically to the point of signing future contracts with google for $10M. Frontier’s up-front purchases can both help startups transition from R&D into commercial production and also help buyers assess which technologies have the most promise to commercialize at scale. https://lnkd.in/enPTzKvN

Ever wondered about the chemical smell from inside your new car, or when opening a box of new furniture? It’s often formaldehyde, a harmful compound that off-gases from many products. Formaldehyde is a VOC linked to indoor air pollution. The side effects from this off-gassing can include respiratory problems, skin irritation, and headaches. Did you know that about 20-30% of furniture and car interiors contain formaldehyde? ECOR products contain no added formaldehyde, and have been awarded the prestigious Indoor Advantage Gold certification for Ultra low VOCs. ECOR: Clean and healthy by nature. Exciting news! Google is partnering with Holocene to set a record low price of $100/ton for Direct Air Capture (DAC) offsets. This pivotal move not only funds technology development but also establishes a benchmark to inspire further innovation in DAC. With the goal of removing up to 10 billion tons of CO2 annually by 2050, reducing costs below $200 per ton is essential. Google’s leadership is a crucial step towards a sustainable future. At ECOR, we applaud this initiative and its potential to drive meaningful change! #CarbonCapture #Sustainability #Innovation Link: https://lnkd.in/esw64awk

SEC Puts Sustainability Claims Under New Scrutiny The SEC has charged Keurig with inaccurately representing the recyclability of its K-Cup pods. The company will pay a $1.5 million penalty to settle the charges. Keurig's annual reports in 2019 and 2020 claimed K-Cups were recyclable, but failed to disclose major recycling companies' concerns. K-Cup sales were a significant part of Keurig’s business, and environmental factors influenced consumer decisions. At ECOR, we emphasize the critical need for accurate disclosures and ethical practices in all aspects of business operations as the SEC emphasizes the importance of accurate and complete reporting.
