We are honored to have been invited to spend the day with the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians’ Chief, Tribal Council, and staff as they welcomed Governor Tina Kotek to haich ikt'at'tuu (Waite Ranch) to learn about our collaborative restoration project on the land. Here, we are working with our partners at the Tribe and the Siuslaw Watershed Council to restore nearly 200 acres of tidal estuary in the lower Siuslaw River. This project is being led by the Tribe and centers cultural restoration as a necessary part of restoring the natural processes and function of the land. Thank you to Tribal Council for working to elevate this partnership and the importance of protecting, restoring, and caring for our local lands and rivers. We are honored to work alongside the Tribe as co-stewards of this special place.
