Happy #MajorInvestorMonday! This week we are excited to highlight Danielle Brown, the General Manager for Charles River Laboratories in Reno. Charles River is a market-leading global contract research organization that worked on over 80% of all FDA-approved drugs over the last five years. The Reno location was founded in 1992 and has grown to a site of 465,000 square feet, with approximately 700 employees. Danielle actively gives back to the community through her support of several local organizations focused on education, youth, women in leadership, and economic growth. Danielle is especially passionate about educating students on careers in science and research through partnerships with Washoe County Schools, Washoe County Education Alliance, TMCC, UNR, and HOSA. Outside of work, Danielle enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, playing pickleball, and spending quality time with her husband and two sons, ages 11 and 13. “Charles River is one of the only life science companies in Northern Nevada, and it is important to educate the community and our students that they can get an education and a career in life sciences right here. As a major investor in EDAWN, we can help shape the economy of our region and help attract other life sciences companies to our area.” EDAWN greatly appreciates all that Danielle and Charles River do for our region!
