We’re proud to support James McNeill, PhD, PE, BEMP, as he presented a paper on the evolving role of buildings in the electric grid at the The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) conference. This paper focuses on retrofitting buildings with grid-interactive technologies to enhance load flexibility and energy efficiency, helping utilities meet modern energy demands. This research is a significant step toward creating more resilient, decarbonized energy systems. Congrats to the entire team Alicia Noriega, CEM, and Easan Drury for this fantastic achievement!
Presenting your own work is an amazing experience, but it might be even better to hear someone else highlight your contributions! Very grateful to listen to Lazlo Paul of Berkeley Lab talk about the amazing work being done in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Connected Communities projects. And of course I mentioned my personal favorite is the one by Edo, Avista, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory! That wraps up my time The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) Summer Study. I’m looking forward to the next one in 2026!

What if your building could help power the future? At Edo, we're turning this idea into reality! We are proud to work with Connecticut's Innovative Energy Solutions (IES) program, a groundbreaking initiative to enhance grid reliability while supporting underserved communities. With $1.4 million in funding, we will engage 25 commercial buildings over the next 18 months, demonstrating how they can provide flexible demand management and contribute to a decarbonized future. But it's more than just numbers and technology. This initiative is about creating a sustainable future for underserved communities and setting a model for utilities nationwide. Explore the details in Alicia Noriega, CEM, and Easan Drury's insightful article below. #EnergyEfficiency #Sustainability #Edo
