A Scholarus Learning Company. Schools grow when people grow.
About us
A Scholarus Learning Company. Our mission is to shape a more equitable and just future by changing how people design for each student’s potential. We are a team of seasoned educators, designers, technologists and change management experts with a proven track record in our work with districts. We take the time to understand the unique challenges school leaders face, and then customize the Education Elements approach for each district. We approach each client interaction with the mindset that while we can share what has worked elsewhere, we must seek to understand the current culture and context of each district and school. We honor the goals, priorities, and vision of every leader with whom we work, and we help them to hone, articulate, and make those visions a reality. We bring deep expertise, design thinking, expert facilitation and the spirit of collaboration, along with our extensive toolkit of resources and technology, to deliver sustainable results. We are passionate and love what we do. We do not think of the work we do as a series of projects, but instead as the building of partnerships and friendships. We measure our success by the success of the districts we support. We want all students to reach their fullest potential. We want all teachers to love to teach. From a single school in 2010 to over 500 today, we are driven by bold leaders, amazing teachers, and the students we serve together. We are so grateful to have the chance to work with so many districts and look forward to many years of working with many more. Interested in transforming your district? We are excited and ready to work with you!

When we asked a room of curriculum leaders what was top of mind, change management rose to the top. Loved playing a supporting role to Christie Wittenburg and Halee Tucker during the Texas Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (Texas ASCD) conference yesterday as we presented on the immense transformation happening in Waxahachie Independent School District. These two educators lead with heart and by example, shifting their own practices from content creators and curators to working with teachers on strategies and delivery. Of course my role in our presentation was leading the game with ping pong balls while the real smart people (Courtney Flanders included) showcased the amazing work by Education Elements and WISD through the Strong Foundations Grant. #curriculum #learning #instruction #ascd

For many schools, consistent data use is an uphill battle and is often treated as a box to check or a high-stakes tool, when it should be an integral part of everyday operations. Thinking of it in these terms can diminish it's potential to transform data habits in your school or district. This blog explores the power of "keystone habits" - small, intentional practices that can kickstart big changes. You'll gain tips for identifying high-leverage habits that align with your vision, offer quick wins, increase transparency, and empower continuous improvement. ✅ Learn how to identify and build these habits to put data at the heart of your decision-making: https://hubs.ly/Q02TWzrZ0 #DataDrivenEducation #DataCulture #SchoolLeadership #ContinuousImprovement #K12Leadership #InnovativeLeadership #CommunityEngagement #DataLiteracy

This is a wonderful example of what a week of work looks like for our consultants. We are so proud of the thoughtfulness and care they put into their day-to-day work!
✨ A week in the life of an education consultant ✨ One of the most common questions I get asked is, "What do you actually DO?" The week I just had is a good example of the many ways I get to support schools in achieving a better future for students, staff, and families - so I thought I'd share the specifics! On Monday and Tuesday, Allie Weiss and I facilitated 16 in-person focus groups at Zionsville Community Schools in Central Indiana to ensure their new strategic plan represents the voices of their community. Lauren Schulten, EdD created content and tools to ensure we captured all of that data in a thoughtful way; teamwork is key! My highlight was getting to talk to middle and high school students about what they love about ZCS, and what they would make true if they could wave a magic wand. Sometimes, we get to be that magic wand for them 💫 On Wednesday, Anna Rizzo and I facilitated a kickoff session with pilot teams from Loudoun County Public Schools in Northern Virginia, who are building pathways for teachers to be able to grow in their careers while remaining in the classroom. In a nation where teacher retention is becoming a major crisis, we get to help this group of leaders think in new and innovative ways about what true teacher support and satisfaction can look like 🎒 On Thursday and Friday, I met with Jill Thompson, Sarah Baver, and Claire Cunliffe right here in Baltimore, as part of our newly created Consulting Services Leadership Team. We spent that time putting into place systems and structures to support Education Elements consultants as they grow, develop, and achieve their short and long-term goals. Our consultants are brilliant, thoughtful, and relentless education leaders, and I'm grateful to be able to support them as they make a deep impact on school districts across the country and world. 💙 ✨ So, that's what I do, in a nutshell; I help people dream up a better future for our schools, and I support them in building the path needed to achieve those dreams. ✨ If you are a school or district leader looking to amplify your impact, or an education professional curious about what your career trajectory could look like, don't hesitate to get in touch!
