ET arriva al "Villaggio delle Regioni", organizzato nell'ambito del Festival delle Regioni, che si svolgerà a Bari dal 19 al 22 ottobre. L’#EinsteinTelescope sarà una delle infrastrutture di ricerca più importanti dei prossimi decenni in Europa. La sua costruzione durerà circa 10 anni e richiederà grandi sforzi ingegneristici per rispondere alle esigenze della comunità scientifica. Fin dalle sue prime fasi, il progetto sarà basato sul rispetto dei principi di sostenibilità, puntando a soluzioni che rispettino il paesaggio e riducano l’impatto ambientale ed energetico dell’infrastruttura lungo il suo intero ciclo di vita. Its construction will take about 10 years and will require significant engineering efforts to meet the needs of the scientific community. From its earliest stages, the project will be based on the principles of sustainability, aiming for solutions that respect the landscape and reduce the environmental and energy impact of the infrastructure throughout its entire lifecycle. #EinsteinTelescope sarà la futura infrastruttura europea per la ricerca di #ondegravitazionali. Per realizzare un’opera di tale portata, è essenziale adottare un approccio integrato e multidisciplinare come il BIM (Building Information Modeling). Si tratta di un sistema che permette di creare un modello virtuale in 3D che guiderà ogni fase dello sviluppo del progetto, dalla pianificazione alla costruzione fino alla manutenzione. L'Italia è candidata a ospitare il futuro interferometro nell'area dell’ex miniera dismessa di #SosEnattos, nel Nuorese. Già adesso, pur essendo in una fase preliminare alla progettazione, il BIM si sta rivelando uno strumento essenziale per conoscere le caratteristiche del territorio, permettendo di stabilire con estrema precisione la posizione ottimale per l’osservatorio. To accomplish such a significant undertaking, it is essential to adopt an integrated and multidisciplinary approach such as the BIM (Building Information Modeling) model. This system allows for the creation of a 3D virtual model that will guide every phase of the project’s development, from planning to construction and maintenance. Italy is a candidate to host the future interferometer in the area of the former mine of #SosEnattos, in the Nuoro region. Even now, despite being in the preliminary design phase, BIM is proving to be an essential tool for understanding the characteristics of the territory, allowing for the precise determination of the optimal location for the observatory. Procedono le attività promosse dall'Agenzia Spaziale Italiana per la realizzazione delle stazioni GNSS e meteo nei pressi del sito minerario di #SosEnattos, la località italiana candidata a ospitare il futuro osservatorio di #ondegravitazionali #EinsteinTelescope.  In fase di sopralluogo, svolto dal personale di e-GEOS in collaborazione con il DICEA di Sapienza Università di Roma, sono stati identificati i punti di installazione delle stazioni, essenziali per l'espansione della rete geodetica che supporterà la progettazione delle strutture di superficie e sotterranee per ET. L’obiettivo è completare i lavori entro la prima metà del 2025. This location is the Italian candidate to host the future #gravitationalwaves observatory, the #EinsteinTelescope. During a site inspection conducted by e-GEOS staff in collaboration with the DICEA of Sapienza University of Rome, the installation points for the stations were identified. These are essential for the expansion of the geodetic network that will support the design of surface and underground structures for ET. The goal is to complete the work by the first half of 2025. Continuano a pieno ritmo le attività sul campo nei pressi della miniera di #SosEnattos. Nei comuni di Onanì e Orune, nel Nuorese, sono iniziati a fine luglio i sondaggi geognostici per caratterizzare l’area candidata a ospitare il futuro rivelatore di onde gravitazionali #EinsteinTelescope. Le attività di indagine, coordinate dai Laboratori Nazionali del Sud dell'INFN come parte del progetto #PNRR ETIC (Einstein Telescope Infrastructure Consortium), comprendono una serie di test tecnici che mirano a garantire l’idoneità del sito e le condizioni ottimali per far sì che l’esperimento funzioni.  I lavori sono attualmente in corso sui vertici delle due configurazioni proposte per ET, una a forma di triangolo equilatero e una a forma di elle. I dati raccolti saranno poi analizzati e condivisi con la comunità scientifica internazionale, per valutare quale configurazione risponderà meglio alle esigenze di Einstein Telescope. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dwTzNhVd Field activities near the #SosEnattos mine continue at full speed. In the municipalities of Onanì and Orune, in the Nuoro area, geognostic surveys began at the end of July to characterize the site proposed to host the future #EinsteinTelescope. The investigation activities, coordinated by the Southern National Laboratories of INFN as part of the #NRPP ETIC (Einstein Telescope Infrastructure Consortium) project, include a series of technical tests aimed at ensuring the site's suitability and optimal conditions for the experiment to operate.  The work is currently underway on the vertices of the two proposed configurations for ET, one in the shape of an equilateral triangle and the other in an L-shape. The collected data will then be analyzed and shared with the international scientific community to assess which configuration best meets the needs of the Einstein Telescope. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dQqhrH8n

L’Einstein Telescope non sarà l’unico osservatorio terrestre di onde gravitazionali di terza generazione. Oltre all’Europa, infatti, anche gli Stati Uniti hanno in cantiere un nuovo esperimento, chiamato Cosmic Explorer, che costituirà l’ideale successore del progetto statunitense LIGO, attualmente operativo. L’obiettivo futuro è che i due nuovi rivelatori costituiscano l’asse portante di una rete globale di osservatori di onde gravitazionali, fondata su una forte cooperazione tra diverse collaborazioni scientifiche. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dthAtiVW The Einstein Telescope will not be the only third-generation ground-based gravitational wave observatory. In addition to Europe, the United States is also planning a new experiment called Cosmic Explorer, which will serve as the ideal successor to the currently operational U.S. LIGO project.
