The Electric Power Supply Association (EPSA) is the voice of America's competitive power suppliers.
About us
The Electric Power Supply Association is the voice of America's competitive power suppliers, working to bring customers the benefits of energy competition. Our member companies own and operate nearly 150,000 megawatts of power generation capacity from a diverse set of resources including natural gas, wind, solar, nuclear, and coal. They’re the owners of power generation plants and storage technologies that convert resources into electricity and store it for use when needed—and they compete to sell that energy to utilities, homes, and businesses at the lowest possible cost.

🔦 Did you know you could be the first line of defense when it comes to securing our #energy infrastructure from cyber and physical threats? October is #NationalCyberSecurity month, serving as a reminder to energy providers and the public of the importance of protecting the power system from bad actors. Power generators work with partners across the industry, law enforcement, and government to monitor threats and secure operations. The challenge is global and complex, but even individuals - especially those working in the energy industry - can take simple steps to secure our critical infrastructure. ✔ Recognize and report phishing ✔Use strong passwords ✔Turn on multifactor authentication ✔Update software Learn more about how power generators work to protect their operations and #SecureOurWorld: ow.ly/5gW050TElUK #cybersecurity #phishing #powergrid #reliability #electricity

Our thoughts are with those impacted by #Helene. EPSA salutes the hard work being done by our peers throughout the #energy industry and all those working to keep communities safe and restore power to the regions affected. Power generators work hard to prepare for #extremeweather and protect our essential power infrastructure, but members of the public can also take action to stay safe during severe weather or in the event of a power outage. We share a few of these tips and the steps EPSA member companies take to harden their plants and other assets and work to get the lights back on in our blog post. But visit FEMA, ready.gov/hurricanes, and your local officials for updates and critical guidance. #HurricaneStrong #hurricane #powergrid #safety

Today in Utility Dive: EPSA backs Rep. Balderson (R-OH) on latest bill addressing interconnection queue delays. EPSA President and CEO Todd Snitchler stated: “EPSA is a staunch supporter of the benefits of competitive markets; however, no economic model or structure can overcome inefficiencies in the interconnection process that can significantly delay critical investment in new dispatchable generation. This legislation appropriately creates a process that recognizes when reliability concerns require that certain investments be prioritized in the interconnection queue.” Read more 👇 https://lnkd.in/eqAWawxH #interconnectionreform #energypolicy #energyexpansion #energytransition

We applaud Congressman Balderson's recent legislation focused on improving interconnection of critical power plants to the grid. Interconnection reform is a vital part of addressing reliability and price concerns, and today's legislation is a positive step forward. EPSA President and CEO Todd Snitchler commended Rep. Balderson on his leadership in electric grid reliability. “This legislation appropriately creates a process that recognizes when reliability concerns require that certain investments be prioritized in the interconnection queue," Snitchler stated. "The proposal is designed to recognize when reliability may be at risk and respond in a prudent and targeted manner."
