Last evening Elevate Research Properties hosted the NYC research community for a truly unique event at West End Labs. The night featured an exclusive screening of the documentary - Of Medicine and Miracles - as well as movie night-themed snacks, drinks, networking, and property tours. Attendees enjoyed the emotionally powerful, story about Dr. Carl June and the influence life events had on his career path that led him to a convergence with then 5-year old Emily Whitehead and her battle with Leukemia. Honored by the presence of esteemed researchers and biotech leaders, the night was a celebration of perseverance and the hope that life science research can bring to many families seeking cures. Empowering NYC High School Students with Real-World Insights. We at Elevate Research Properties and Taconic Partners were thrilled to host an enthusiastic group of NYC high school students at West End Labs for NYC’s Career Discovery Week. Huge shoutouts to NYC Public Schools and the Partnership for New York City for orchestrating this amazing program. Students from The Academy of Urban Planning and Engineering school from Brooklyn, were led into the world of life science facilities—learning the A-Z of developing and managing a state-of-the-art research hub right in the heart of New York City. Our aim was to offer these NYC high schoolers a comprehensive look at the complexity and thrill of developing top-tier research spaces in urban settings, challenging them to solve real-world problems. Guided by some of our department heads, the student groups showcased remarkable teamwork and creativity during this engaging experience. Career Discovery Week is a testament to the commitment of the Partnership for New York City and NYC Public Schools in bridging the gap between the classroom and the professional world.
