We are excited to announce this month's #employeespotlight as none other than Stephen Legnon one of our rockstar Software Developer Interns! We had a few minutes to sit down with Stephen to discuss what he is passionate about in the workplace: 1) How has your internship with Elevator3 helped you grow in the computer science field? The knowledge I have gained from this internship has been priceless. Both in software development and seeing how real world companies function outside the classroom, working here has given me incredible insight into how projects of all sizes operate and how fun it can be to be a software developer. 2) What has been your most favorite project you worked on at Elevator3? Why? My favorite project would have to be our vehicle and asset leasing application Mobilease. This is the project I first started on when I got to E3 and have been on it ever since so it is the most familiar to me. Navigating the intricacies of the leasing world while still getting to write code every day has been an interesting and rewarding experience. 3) What would you tell a young person wanting to enter into the technology workspace? Learning to enjoy learning is one of the best things someone can teach themselves, and something that took me a while to do. There are always new things popping up in the tech world and it can be a lot to keep up with but if you learn to enjoy learning then any daunting task can be looked at as just another opportunity to expand your skills. 4) What has been your most proud, project or not, moment at E3? Helping my fellow developers learn something new. I am always learning so much from my amazing coworkers so it always feels nice to be able to return the favor and give them a helping hand whenever I can. 5) What inspired you to pursue a degree and career in technology? From a young age I always enjoyed messing with computers and wondering how they worked. After trying out a few different majors in college, I landed on computer science because of the intriguing nature of the different languages while also having a very supportive community I had not found in my previous studies. #softwaredeveloper #goingup #internship #SELU
