This week our entrepreneurship students got a two-for-one deal when husband and wife entrepreneurs, Ryan Vannatter and Kelli Vannatter, owners of Albany Golf Club, shared their entrepreneurial journey. ⛳ There's always a twist. This week our Impact X participants learned the importance of assumptions vs a customer’s actual needs. Through a shoe design exercise, our participants learned the importance of asking questions and digging deeper to have a better understanding of a customer’s need. Taking that knowledge to a final product their customer would purchase helped them understand the importance of surveys. This was a week for LEGO. From workshops with TeenWorks and Ivy Tech Community College Upward Bound's teens learning about leadership to prototyping, pivoting and racing LEGO balloon cars down the hallway with our YMCA of Muncie youth camps. The month of May was full of celebrations for our X-STREAM Builders participants. Two of our students were able to cash in on their "lunch with Candy Dodd and Faith Cochran" that they purchased with their XB Bucks during our year-end auction. We then celebrated the end of the program by announcing the winners of our Lion's Den, "The Cleaning Companion" and the Whitely Project, "Precious Hearts and Motivate our Minds." And, last week we attended Longfellow Elementary's Graduation to cheer on the 5th graders who were a part of our XB program. We are so excited to see what is in store next for these young community members.
