  • What does medical coverage look like at your health and fitness expo? How many sports do you have competing? Are any of those sports considered combat sports? Where are you locating your medical professionals? What are the credentials of your medical professionals? What does the venue require? Is that truly the coverage your event needs? There are a million other questions that can and should be asked and answered. While some questions may seem straight forward, the truth is they aren't. Many venues require you to provide medical services in the form of EMS/EMTs/Paramedics or to utilize their contracted EMS staff. While EMS does a fantastic job with life saving emergencies, their calling is not everyday sports injuries. What happens when someone sprains an ankle, breaks their arm, has a turf burn or abrasion, or breaks a nose? Are they set-up to tape ankles, assess an injury, or provide ice for athletes? That is where someone like Elite 7 Sports Medicine comes in. By setting up a central medical location and providing roaming athletic trainers, we are visible and able to monitor sports, communicate with the various teams, and provide support when injuries happen. It allows us to support your event, the athletes competing, and takes the pressure of the organizations and EMS, allowing them to focus on what they do and giving us the ability to do what we do best...and all while working together to provide the best care for each athlete. As you start planning for your next event, let us know how we can help. #E7advantage #Elite7 #AthleteHealth #EventMedicine

  • Are you planning to build a state-of-the-art athletic complex? Don't let sports medicine services be an afterthought! We MUST prioritize sports medicine from the start! Too often, high-tech training facilities take center stage while athlete care is sidelined - leading to costly consequences. A dedicated sports medicine program isn't just about injury prevention and recovery; it's a critical investment in athletes and also reduces liability costs. By keeping athletes healthy and addressing injuries early, we can minimize risks, avoid long-term medical expenses, and protect our athletes. Let's bring sports medicine professionals into the conversation at the planning stages and build a facility that supports athlete success, health and wellness, and is financially sustainable. #SportsMedicineMatters #AthleteHealth #E7Advantage #InjuryPrevention #CompleteAthleteCare #Elite7 #VirtualAthleticTrainingRoom

  • Mental health in athletics has been taboo in the past. Not because it should be, but because athletes were worried about playing time. While we continue to make strides, especially over the last few years, there is still work to do. As sports medicine professionals, seeing coaches change the conversation on mental health, especially starting in youth sports is so refreshing and needed across the board.

University of Maryland football coach Mike Locksley is leading a crucial conversation about mental health in athletics. Key Takeaways: 🔍 Recognizing subtle signs of mental health struggles is vital 🤝 Building trust and open communication with athletes is key 📊 Only 37% of U.S. high schools have full-time athletic trainers 🏫 8 states now require mental health training for high school coaches Coach Locksley's Initiatives: - "Three H's" exercise for team bonding - Open door policy for mental health discussions - Advocacy for legislative action Why it matters: - Mental health affects athletic performance and overall well-being - Early intervention can prevent tragic outcomes - Changing the culture around mental health in sports "These kids all want to tell you their issues. But you got to have the trust, know that you care about them, before they open up." - Mike Locksley #YouthSports #Sportsbiz #LinkedInSports #Sports #YouthSportsBiz #Kids #Parents #MentalHealthAwareness #CoachingForChange #AthleteDevelopment #mentalhealth #CTE https://lnkd.in/gqRQmfit

  • National Youth Sports Week: Prioritizing Safety for Young Athletes As a sports professional, you're on the front lines of keeping young athletes safe and healthy. At Elite 7 Sports Medicine, we partner with coaches, teams, and organizations like you to ensure that injury prevention and performance go hand in hand. Here are 4 essential ways to help maintain a safe sports environment: 1. Proper Conditioning & Warm-Ups: Ensure that young athletes are going through a proper warm-up and regular conditioning. Implement age-appropriate training routines to prevent overuse injuries and ensure proper skill development. 2. Vigilant Hydration Protocols: Establish hydration breaks and educate your athletes on the importance of staying hydrated, especially in hot weather. 3. Safety Gear Checks: Perform regular equipment inspections and ensure each athlete is fitted properly with helmets, braces, and other protective gear. Remember these athletes are growing quickly and adjustments need to be made on a regular basis. 4. Injury Reporting Protocols: Promote an open dialogue for athletes to report pain or injury without fear of losing playing time. Early detection is key! Your role is critical in fostering not only performance, but also the long-term health of your athletes. Together, let's continue to make youth sports safer! #NationalYouthSportsWeek #Elite7SportsMedicine #e7advantage #InjuryPrevention #YouthAthletes #YouthSports #VirtualAthleticTrainingRoom

  • Athletic trainers play an indispensable role in ensuring athlete safety and wellbeing, both on and off the field. Their presence at sporting events provides immediate injury response, expert care, and essential injury prevention strategies. But the reality is we are seeing more and more sporting events, activities, and professions that need athletic trainers and they are left to their own devices. Or something happens at an event where there is an athletic trainer and then there is no follow-up care at home because there is no access to an athletic trainer. The scenarios are endless. Through Elite 7 Sports Medicine's Virtual Athletic Training Room, we are able to provide care to athletes that may not have access to an athletic trainer (non-traditional sports, club & travel teams, tactical athletes, etc) and offer that continuity of care that ensures athletes receive consistent follow-up, rehabilitation, and sport-specific recommendations, no matter where they are. At Elite 7 our goal, whether onsite or virtually is to provide expert level care to all of our athletes and help them continue to pursue their passion. #e7advantage #Elite7 #virtualathletictrainingroom #Sportsmedicine #Continuityofcare #VATR
