March 30 is National Doctors Day, and we hope you will join us in honoring the physicians of Ellis Medicine. These dedicated professionals earn our appreciation every day, by bringing their hearts to work even in the most difficult of circumstances. Doctors have been celebrated on this day since 1933, when a Georgia woman named Eudora Brown Almond thought her husband and his fellow doctors deserved more recognition. She rallied the community to send cards, host a luncheon and place red carnations on the graves of deceased doctors. The idea caught on and became an official national holiday in 1990. Red carnations are still the symbolic flower of National Doctors Day. Has an Ellis physician made a difference in your life?
