Building a thriving culture is the job of a leader. And just like that, we launched another round of the Performance Services Leadership Program last month! This is the 9th cohort to participate in the program since its inception in 2018. The program equips leaders to build a great place to work by leading culture and engaging people. PSI leaders shape culture by communicating, modeling and reinforcing the Guiding Principles that have been pivotal to their success since the beginning: People, Excellence, Service, Growth and Stewardship. And Performance Services' success speaks for itself: · Named one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana (Top 10 for large companies) by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce · Named one of the Best Places to Work in Texas · Named one of Central Indiana’s top 25 fastest-growing companies by the Indianapolis Business Journal We’re proud to partner with PSI as they continue to grow and shape culture, and we can’t wait to see all the lessons that this next cohort of leaders learns and applies over the next several months! #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipprogram #culture #cultureshaping

We hosted a Presentation Skills Workshop with the Performance Services interns last week in preparation for their upcoming capstone presentations. The workshop helped participants prepare and deliver their presentations for audience impact, emphasizing the importance of analyzing listener needs, structuring presentations in a clear and organized manner, and using their voice and body language to communicate effectively. Participants received feedback on the effectiveness of their presentations and will have the chance to continue practicing and refining their presentations before presenting to the PSI leadership team and intern managers later this month. We were impressed with their “rough drafts” and can’t wait to see and hear their final presentations soon! #presentationskills #presenting #communication #audienceimpact #listenerneeds #voice #bodylanguage #internshipprogram

Leadership takes courage. When others turn a blind eye to issues that arise, leaders address challenges head-on. They have hard conversations—sharing feedback that others need to hear and listening to feedback that others need to share. They make difficult decisions in the face of uncertainty. And they continuously learn from their mistakes and the mistakes of others. #leadership #courage #challenges #opportunities #feedback #listening #decisions #learning

Congrats to these leaders who were officially certified in our Performance Services Leadership Development Program last week! This highly interactive, six-month leadership program enables leaders to examine their leadership qualities through the lens of personal introspection, monthly workshops and on-the-job application. Upon completing the program, PSI leaders are better prepared to: · Seize new opportunities and address the challenges facing their business · Drive execution and innovation · Lead culture and engage people · Walk the talk and live the PSI Guiding Principles We have enjoyed playing a role in their development and can’t wait to see what they accomplish next! #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipprogram #certification #insights #tools #practice #behaviorchange #learning #results

In order to delegate effectively, clarity is key. Clearly communicate what is being delegated, resources available, deadline(s) and expected outcomes. Then communicate what level of authority you grant your employee to make decisions. Consider the six degrees of delegation: 1. “Report all the facts to me; I’ll decide what to do.” 2. “Let me know alternative actions; include pros and cons of each and recommend one for my approval.” 3. “Let me know what you intend to do; don’t take action unless I endorse it.” 4. “Let me know what you intend to do; do it unless I say no.” 5. “Take action; let me know what you did.” 6. “Take action; no future contact with me is necessary.” If your employee is new to their role, it might be appropriate to start at a level 1 or 2 so they can understand your decision-making process and gain context into the business. Once an employee has demonstrated competency, you can delegate at a higher level in order to build confidence, critical thinking skills and leadership potential. #delegate #delegation #clarity #degreesofdelegation #confidence #criticalthinking #leadership

We hosted the R.T. Moore Elevate Leadership Workshop 3 last week! We covered the topics of Accountability, Delegating & Managing Performance, Developing Talent and Coaching. It was a day packed with learning, group conversation and practice! When it comes to developing talent, not all development activities are created equal. The most powerful activities are tightly integrated with day-to-day work. According to the Corporate Leadership Council, on-the-job learning has three times more impact on employee performance than formal training. For that reason, we recommend following the 70-20-10 rule when it comes to developing your employees: 70% Experience – on-the-job projects, stretch assignments, rotations, lateral job changes, additional responsibilities, promotions 20% Exposure – Ongoing feedback and coaching, mentoring, developing new networks 10% Education – Development workshops, formal training, university study, reading, self-directed learning activities When taking advantage of formal training opportunities, find ways to tie lessons learned back to day-to-day activities and challenges. Adults learn best when the topics we learn have immediate relevance and application. #leadership #developingtalent #onthejobtraining #onthejoblearning #experience #exposure #education #relevance #application

Developing a growth mindset allows us to view mistakes as opportunities to learn and to accept constructive feedback as a gift intended to help us grow and improve. Developing a growth mindset helps us become more curious, resilient and self-confident. Instead of saying, “I can’t do this,” redirect your thoughts and tell yourself, “With time and practice, I can learn how to do this.” Set realistic goals and celebrate progress over perfection. Seek out feedback from people who are dedicated to your growth and who can provide honest feedback, guidance and support. #growthmindset #mistakes #opportunities #constructivefeedback #learning #growth #development #improvement #progress #realisticgoals #guidance #support
