    Building things and solving problems

🚀 Why I started Elucid8🚀 Elucid8’s mission is to bring the best technology into the state, local, and education (SLED) market. ❓Why? Because, unfortunately, the tech used in many local governments today lags behind what’s available in the private sector. Now, consider the services local governments provide: roads, drinking water, electricity,  education, and so much more. The quality of tech our local governments have at their disposal has a major impact on the quality of life in our communities. 🚰🛣️🏫 There are many reasons why the tech in local govs isn’t on par with private industry. And, we won’t claim that we can solve the problem single-handedly. But we can help. 🔑One key issue Elucid8 addresses is the misalignment between how tech companies go to market and how local governments buy technology. The #go-to-market strategy most tech companies use is designed for private sector buyers. And GTM designed for the private sector will never be as effective for selling to SLED clients. The result is lower returns on GTM investment in SLED, and fewer technologies marketed and sold to public sector buyers, which ultimately leads to: 🙁 Less market competition ☹️Less innovation 😫Lower-quality tech used by local governments So what can we do??? 🎯Elucid8 is laser-focused on helping innovative tech companies design and implement go-to-market strategies tailored explicitly for selling into the SLED market. Our team has been implementing SLED GTM campaigns since the iphone 5. Elucid8 is our way of scaling our experience to bring the best technology to SLED. 💥We have so much planned for the months ahead. Stay tuned!!! #GTM #go-to-market #innovation #SLED #B2G #publicsector

🚨 New to the SLED (State, Local, and Education) market? Here's why chasing RFPs may not be the best use of your time. 🚨 When you’re just starting out, responding to RFPs can be a grind – it might take up to 40 hours (or more) to complete! But here’s the thing: you don’t want to be spending that kind of time unless you have a solid chance of winning. So, when’s the right time to dive into RFPs? 🤔 🔑 When the RFPs start coming to YOU. Before an RFP ever goes public, government buyers often reach out to vendors they’ve found through Google, LinkedIn, or other channels to gather insights and shape the requirements. That’s your golden moment! Focus on building brand awareness so cities, counties, and school districts know you’re the expert. Once they start contacting you for advice on upcoming RFPs, that’s your green light to start responding – because your odds of winning just skyrocketed. 🚀 Remember: responding to RFPs is a massive investment. Make sure you’re only pursuing the ones where you have a strong chance of success. The real win comes when the opportunities start finding you. #stateofgovtech #SLED #GovSales #RFPstrategy #SalesTips #PublicSectorSales #GovTech

🚨What NOT to do when you want to break into #SLED🚨 I give the same advice to every company that wants to begin selling to local governments: Don’t waste time finding and responding to RFPs, don’t focus on getting approved for contract vehicles, and don’t worry about all the rules and regulations. This is counterintuitive to anyone who has googled or asked GPT about the SLED market. 💡But, here’s the thing… RFPs and government contract vehicles are not designed to help businesses break into the SLED market (in fact, they inherently disfavor newcomers to the market). And government procurement regulations don’t matter if there aren’t any governments that want to buy what you’re selling. The first step to breaking into SLED is building brand awareness. You’ll never succeed in #B2G if governments don’t understand how your business can help them. And here’s some good news - you don’t need to spend resources responding to RFPs, getting approved for contract vehicles, or learning rules and regulations to build brand awareness. If you want to break into SLED, start building your reputation with government buyers. Show them that you bring value and care about their communities. 🕚There will be plenty of time to worry about RFPs, contracts, and regulations after you’ve made a name for yourself in SLED. #Sales #LocalGov #Edtech #Govtech #Civtech

🚀 Bridging the Technology Gap in the Public Sector 🚀 At Elucid8, our mission is simple: to bring the best technology into the state, local, and education (SLED) market. Why? Because the tech used in many local governments today lags behind what’s available in the private sector—and that impacts all of us. One key issue is the misalignment between how tech companies go to market and how local governments buy technology. Most tech companies design their GTM strategy for private sector buyers, and those strategies aren't nearly as effective for selling into SLED. So, they yield lower returns, and tech companies respond by pulling back from the market. 🌐 The result is: - Less market competition - Reduced innovation - Lower-quality tech purchased and deployed by local governments The impact is real: roads, drinking water, electricity, education, and so many other critical services rely upon the technology our local governments employ. Elucid8 is laser-focused on ensuring that state and local governments can access the best technology available. Improving public sector tech means improving quality of life! #publicsector #innovation #technology #localgovernment #SaaS #govtech #GTM #B2G

#SLED is for everyone!!! I've heard from a few companies that have the idea that the SLED market is just #GovTech companies and #GovernmentContractors. But the reality is that most businesses that sell to governments aren't the companies anyone thinks of as Govtech or GovCon. They're just businesses that provide great products and services and are smart enough to know that SLED is an incredible market. According to this article (link in comments), the top 5 IT partners for cities are... 1. Microsoft 2. Dell Technologies 3. Esri (tie) 3. Oracle (tie) 5. Motorola Solutions

🚀 Ready to Expand in #SLED? Don't Overlook This Key Strategy! If you've been working in #B2G for a while and have had some success with #localgov, it’s natural to think about working in the next state over or maybe in a new region. But here's a tip I always share with my clients: Don't overlook the value of expanding within the areas where you already have a presence. Think of local governments as nesting dolls. Cities lie within counties, special districts often lie within counties (and can even expand beyond those boundaries), and the same goes for school districts. While these governments provide different services, they all serve the same residents. That means they must collaborate—and they do. They know each other and talk to one another. So, if you have a solid reputation and have done great work with a city, chances are you're well-positioned to succeed and win work with the county. You’ll also be in an excellent place to begin working with the local school district and any special districts in the area. So, when you want to expand, leverage the reputation you've already built and own those territories. Work with all the local governments within a county or neighboring a city where you already have a good reputation. This is a crucial aspect of local government expansion that many overlook. Don’t make that mistake. Max out your clients within the areas where you’re already present. 💼💡

Subcontracting is an important part of working in the SLED market. A question I often hear from businesses is how to effectively position and market themselves to prime contractors. Here are two key strategies to consider: Leverage Certifications: If your company qualifies for certifications like Minority-Owned Business Enterprise, Veteran-Owned Business, or Women-Owned Business, ensure you secure these certifications and prominently display them on your website. Prime contractors seek subcontractors with these credentials, as it can enhance their RFP proposals. Direct Engagement with SLED Agencies: Focus on building relationships with government agencies directly. Prime contractors typically maintain strong ties with these agencies, and if you've successfully generated demand within these circles, it will resonate with the prime contractors. They’ll be more inclined to include you in their proposals because they recognize the government’s interest in your offerings. #B2G #SLED #SLEDsales #GovCon
