Two important takeaways from the "2024 Convenience Store Trends Report" from Intouch Insight: 1) #Cstores are becoming more than a fuel pit stop. Customers increasingly view these locations as destinations in their own right, from buying made-to-order food items to comfortable locations for a short break. 56% of 2023 respondents see convenience stores as a viable alternative to quick-service restaurants, compared to 45% just a year earlier. 2) Aligned with the slightly longer dwell time associated with point 1, the next generation of customers also expects to be able to charge their electric vehicle during a convenience store visit. More than 40% of respondents aged 18-24 will choose a location offering EV charging stations over one that does not. In the oldest age group (65-74), that number drops to 6%, emphasizing the changing expectations of younger drivers. Despite these insights, the study also found that only 9% of the locations it included offered EV charging, showing a major opportunity for forward-thinking c-store chains to gain a competitive advantage and win brand loyalty with the next generation of customers. If your convenience store hasn't yet moved to welcome electric vehicle owners, now is the time! Elywhere can help your team cut through the burden of extended install times to bring reliable, flexible fast charging to sites in months, rather than years. There were more than 50 excellent panel discussions at #EverythingElectricCANADA this past weekend. The event opened strongly, with the vision of BC Hydro President + CEO Chris O'Riley shared through nuanced questions from Fully Charged's Robert Llewellyn. British Columbia is second only to Québec in terms of Canadian EV adoption levels. With BC Hydro heavily involved in bringing the required power and charging infrastructure to the province to support this accelerating transition to electric vehicles, Chris is well-placed to explain how this will happen. Elywhere was proud to sponsor this conversation and many more held on the Giga Theater stage over three days. We look forward to sharing the full conversation (and more insights from the event) with you later this month. In the meantime, Robert's previous interview with Chris is linked in the comments to give you an idea of what to expect. If you attended EE Canada, share your takeaways from the weekend with everyone below ⤵ #energytransition #sustainableenergy

We frequently remind potential site hosts that EV charging brings in new business, but it doesn't hurt to have research from Massachusetts Institute of Technology to back up our point... A new study around the impact of new EV charging stations (EVCS) in California over multiple years identifies uplift in revenue opportunities for individual businesses and communities alike. The findings include: "Newly-opened EVCS [led] to an average yearly total gain of $22,813 in customer spending in 2019. Taking into account all newly-opened EVCS in California, the total gain in customer spending amounted to $6.7M in 2019 and $19.5M between January 2021 and June 2023." Benefits stretch beyond the quantitative for some communities, with exposure to local attractions and word-of-mouth marketing two further advantages that adding EV charging delivers. If you've been thinking about offering EV services at your site - or have recommendations for locations that you'd like to see add charging for your vehicle in future - get in touch with us via ena@elywhere.com. #EVcharging #ConsumerSpending #EVbusiness

FullyCharged.SHOW & Everything Electric Canada this weekend had us torn between listening to insightful conversations and exploring the latest, greatest electric vehicles on display. We captured more video of the EV side, as you can see here, but we'll have some takeaways from the show for you in another post this week! Now comes the hard part: on #WorldEVDay, which of these new all-electric models would you want in your driveway? 🤔 #EverythingElectricCanada #electricvehicles #luxurycars

We're happy to see so many fleet and freight EVs here at #EverythingElectricCanada. Powering the movement of goods and service vehicles with electric drivetrains is the next major wave of electrification, especially for metro and suburban areas, where the duty cycles are shorter and well-suited to EV capabilities. Charging these delivery vehicles effectively remains a major planning task for fleet managers. It's a challenge that Elywhere is excited to help customers across the United States and Canada solve with flexible, rapid deployment charging systems. Are you at the event this weekend? Let us know what you've been excited to see in the comments... ⤵ #fleetelectrification #fullychargedshow #electricvehicles

Elywhere North America is proud to support the latest edition of FullyCharged.SHOW & Everything Electric in Canada this weekend! In keeping with our mission to promote EV adoption and catalyze conversations that make transportation cleaner, we will be sponsoring the programming at the event's Giga Theater. 50+ sessions are scheduled over the three days of the event, hosted by leading industry voices including Ricky Roy, Nikki Gordon-Bloomfield, and Imogen Bhogal. The insights begin with a fireside chat between Fully Charged founder Robert Llewellyn and BC Hydro President Chris O'Riley, who will discuss electrification efforts in British Columbia and beyond. If you're attending the show or around the Vancouver area, send a DM or drop us a note via ena@elywhere.com. We'd love to connect with fellow electrification advocates, especially if you're looking for flexible fast charging and energy storage solutions! #electricvehicles #cleanenergy #EverythingElectricCanada
