🌟 This week, Embarc Collective kicked off its fifth annual Glaring Gap Summit, made possible by ReliaQuest and RSM! From college students to seasoned professionals, the room was filled with 50 women across Florida ready to address the critical funding disparities faced by women founders. Danielle Bayard Jackson, Owner of TELL Public Relations and author of Fighting for Our Friendships, opened the summit with a speed friending exercise, encouraging participants to connect beyond surface level right from the start. 🤝 Ellie Bahrmasel, Founder and CEO of Further Faster Ventures, emphasized that if women invested at the same rate as men, there would be an additional $3.2 trillion of assets under management today. She encouraged participants to embrace their economic power and invest in alignment with their values. 🧐 Genevieve Custer Weeks, Founder and CEO of Tutu School Franchise, highlighted franchising as a tool for women founders to scale their businesses while maintaining equity and control, as demonstrated by her successful expansion to 115+ locations globally. 🌎 April Oury, an exited entrepreneur-turned-angel investor, taught valuable business skills from poker, such as reading people and calculating odds. She encouraged participants to be bold in their decisions and reminded them that an ace without a strong pair is not always a winning hand. 🃏 Finally, Angela Lee, Professor of VC at Columbia Business School and Founder of 37 Angels, led a rigorous curriculum on playing your role in the startup ecosystem, helping attendees identify ways to support women founders. Whether through investing, working in venture capital, or providing constructive feedback, participants were able to personalize their journeys to help women founders succeed. 💡 Check out more insights in the coverage by Tampa Bay Business Journal: https://hubs.la/Q02VLPXF0

I love the annual #goal wall at Embarc Collective. If I try to measure success day by day, it doesn't seem like we're getting anywhere. But looking at the big picture helps to see how far we've come.
