Are your interviewers asking the right questions? Meaning are they able to get the necessary information to make confident hiring decisions? This makes the difference between an efficient vs. prolonged interview process (which leads to poor candidate experience). Further, the difference between good and bad hires (which can waste a lot of time and resources) #recruiting #recruitment #talent #talentacquisition embeddedtalent.co

Great recruiters are not cost centers. A great recruiter or TA leader can... - Save you hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary agency fees - Ensure that you are working with the best agency partners (when needed) - Increase time efficiency, thus lowering time costs - Maximize and optimize your resources to produce the best cost-per-hire - Bring in the right talent who can impact revenue, quickly - Improve retention with effective hiring practices, thus reducing turnover costs Undervaluing truly effective recruiters and TA operators is a big mistake that many organizations make. In fact, categorizing recruiters as simple order-takers or seat-fillers is a pretty good indicator that many companies truly don't understand the benefit of what they bring to the table. Removing a great recruiter has a cost greater than what is accounted for.

This "hack" may work to get Candidatess more interviews, IF the companies are using some kind of AI to parse resumes. All the AI or MI is doing is suggesting a candidate might be a good fit, based on words not actual talent assessment. It won't actually get you a job though. You still need to interview well, have the skills and know how to execute. It's not foolproof. Most Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) do not have this capability and a human is reviewing your resume. The best recruiters are not going to blindly use AI to determine who to invite to an interview. "Knock out questions" might feel like AI but really these type of questions are in place if you do not meet a minimum qualification or requirement. https://lnkd.in/eprRPg97 #recruiting #recruitment #talent #talentacquisition

"I spoke to a candidate for 60 minutes, thought they were great, and extended an offer" isn't the flex you think it is. Personally, there is a 0% chance I would ever accept a job after a single 60 minute conversation [and I'm confident in speaking for most people when making that statement]. I have had countless candidates go through a 3 step interview process, receive an offer, and then ask for an additional interview with the manager because they need more information in order to make a decision. I've had managers do the same thing when they have two incredible candidates on the table and can only extend an offer to one. Hiring is not some minor little task - I've never met a manager that says "well, let's just hire a guy and see what happens." Every single hire brings substantial risk and a poor hire means a waste of time, money, resources, and impact on team morale/culture, etc. Should an interview process be 7 stages involving 15 individuals? Absolutely not. Is 3 interviews with the manager/director and a couple of team members/cross functional partners acceptable? Yes, it sure is. #recruiterlife #behindthehiring

I’ve been unemployed for 13 months and here’s one thing I’ve learned during this time… 💬 The way a company treats you during the interview process is just a preview into how they will treat you if you end up working there. LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN: 🤯 The way a company treats you during the interview process is just a preview into how they will treat you if you end up working there. If they are ghosting you. If they are ignoring your emails. If they aren’t keeping you updated. If they aren’t communicating effectively. Nine times out of ten, they are going to do the same things when you work there. On the other hand…. If they make sure you are feeling heard and seen. If they actively communicate and are easy to communicate with. If they make sure your questions are answered and you are kept up to date. Nine times out of ten, they are going to do the same things when you work there. You deserve to work for a company that not only treats you with respect but also doesn’t leave you in the dark. 🕶 Always trust your gut. YOU GOT THIS! 💞

9 years in recruiting and I’ve never met someone that was hired by AI. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - I’m Sam, and I am the ATS. I’ve reviewed half a million resumes at this point in my career. Whoever is telling you that a robot is reviewing resumes and sending rejections is misinformed - it’s just not true. Recruiters are using their eyeballs to identify specific experience, skills, etc. [and yes, they do it in about 7 seconds per resume] [Note - if you’re getting auto rejected from a role, I can almost guarantee there were knockout questions involved, and that’s exactly the intention there] That said, if there is someone out there using a secret AI tool to effectively screen resumes [not a keyword scanner] that has proven to improve conversion rates, decrease time to hire, and increase employee retention, I’d love to learn more. Until then, eyeballs it is. #recruiterlife #behindthehiring #iamtheATS
