Be sure to check out this great read from Trane. "Experts believe the replacement of fossil fuel-based heating systems with efficient, all-electric technologies will reduce (buildings’) energy use by more than 40 percent and carbon emissions by more than 75 percent." VRF is one of the fastest growing technologies and most widely accepted technologies for electrified heating. #VRF

VRF systems being installed worldwide have enjoyed tremendous success. Good design and well-suited applications produce commercial HVAC comfort, efficiency, and reliability for virtually any cooling application. The recipe for VRF success: ▪ Inverter-driven compressors: Variable-speed inverter-driven compressors within the VRF outdoor condensing unit provide comfort at any speed. Variable speed compressors replace large arrays of unloading lead and lag compressors, turning off and on with load fluctuations. Instead, inverter-driven compressors run at the most efficient speed, providing quiet, stable, and reliable operation. ▪ Efficient Fan coil units for zone control: Quiet and discrete indoor fan coil units send air over the evaporator coils, delivering cooling to any assortment of zones imaginable. Available in ducted or compact register designs, the effect of multi-zone control is providing accurate cooling where it's needed but not where it's wasteful. ▪ Great for design: Split system VRF systems are compact and flexible to design, allowing outdoor units and indoor units to be configured in multiple applications. ▪ Intuitive Maintenance: VRF systems’ sophisticated but simple master control provides scheduling, master temperature control, and seasonal adaptability for total comfort control. The call for efficiency, reliability, and quiet modulation has driven VRF component design to contend with industry demands. Overall, this combination has propelled VRF systems to the forefront of the HVAC industry, where they continue to set new standards for performance and comfort. #commercialhvac #vrf #vrfsystems #hvac #wearevrfexperts

Builders and designers understand that industrial, commercial, and scholastic spaces bound by the guidance of the ASHRAE 62.1 fresh air ventilation requirements must contend with the high energy cost of cooling summer outside air and heating cold winter air while balancing indoor air temperature and humidity for total Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). Seasonally fluctuating outside air conditions present challenges for older all-in-one-package systems which mix outside air loads and return air loads in one package. The modular approach of combining Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS) and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) produces zone-by-zone comfort with IAQ performance operating at excellent efficiency. By conditioning the required outdoor air separately in the DOAS, verification that all zones are receiving the necessary fresh air is simplified. Dedicated to the conditioning of only the outside air, humidity levels can be met in an energy efficient manner. Energy efficiency is often increased in DOAS units by including energy recovery components(heat wheels, plate heat exchangers, etc) that use building loads to pre-treat outside air before final conditioning. The mainstay of VRF is to provide energy efficient comfort cooling throughout varying-demand, building zones. Controls and sensors measure the cooling and heating loads, while the system regulates the inverter-driven compressors to adjust refrigerant flow for each zone. This precise distribution of refrigerant without wasting energy in turning on and off compressors during partial loads can increase energy efficiency up to 25 percent over traditional systems. VRF + DOAS = Perfect combo to meet your building’s requirements for IAQ, energy efficiency, and comfort cooling. #vrf #vrfsystems #DOAS #energyefficiency #vrfhvac #IAQ

VRF systems offer comfort tailored to individual needs and preferences, making them ideal for classrooms, libraries, multi-family, hotels, offices and more. Cooling and heating to multiple zones simultaneously is easy. Thanks to their quiet operation and efficiency, noise is minimal and building occupant satisfaction increases. Plus, their modular system design eliminates the need for mechanical rooms; this makes VRF ideal for tighter, smaller spaces. Whether it's for new construction or existing systems, VRF systems are the perfect solution for a variety of applications. #vrf #vrfhvac #vrfsystems #commercialhvac #wearevrfexperts

𝐷𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑏𝑜𝑛𝑖𝑧𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 has received a lot of attention recently as government agencies aim to reduce CO2 emissions globally. Studies and reports indicate strategic electrification provides the most aggressive carbon emission reduction, however, the trend of lowering these emissions is often in direct conflict to a growing demand for comfort cooling and heating. If tenants aren’t comfortable, decarbonization measures won’t succeed. This is where #VRF systems reign supreme with increased energy efficiency and consolidation of heating and cooling in an all-electric system which provides comfort across the zones. With continuous communication between the outdoor unit(s) and indoor unit(s) controllers, the VRF inverter-driven compressors vary the system’s capacity to match the load detected by each zone’s indoor unit(s). This precise management of capacity results in a system that is up to 40 percent more energy efficient than traditional HVAC equipment. Tenant expectations are satisfied too as the right amount of cooling or heating is always delivered where it is needed. Unlike gas-fired HVAC systems, VRF uses electricity to provide heating. The outdoor unit extracts thermal energy from the temperature difference between expanded refrigerant gas and the ambient temperature. The heat is transferred to indoor units via refrigerant lines. This method provides more energy as heat than the system uses as electricity, resulting in both energy efficiency and tenant comfort. The benefits of VRF satisfy a growing need for decarbonization without sacrificing efficiency or comfort. #vrf #variablerefrigerantflow #vrfsystems #vrfhvac #decarbonization #commercialhvac
