#IndoorAgCon2024 is just around the corner on March 11-12. Excited to share that our own Eric Bratcher will be a panelist, bringing insights into energy sustainability in agriculture. Visit our booth #1508 and talk with our energy experts Julia Smith and Jose L Arellano! #controlledenvironmentagriculture #microgrid
The controlled environment agriculture industry continues to struggle with investments in energy resiliency and sustainability that are critical to the indoor agriculture business. Broad electrification dynamics in the utility market and new federal incentives are driving opportunities to dramatically reduce traditional capital investment. Microgrids utilizing distributed energy resources (DERs) can be "value stacked" to reduce capital or be framed in an Energy as a Service business model. Utilities continue to increase incentives and benefits to commercial/industrial clients that can participate in load management and demand response events to reduce grid capacity challenges. FP&L, PSE&G, Georgia Power, Excel, Entergy, ERCOT and many others have active programs for grid-connected distributed energy resources. In addition, the clean energy provisions in the IRA can have up to a 40% impact on total first cost for Microgrid and renewable distributed generation projects. During this #IndoorAgCon2024 session, our panelists Mohammed Oufattole, Revol Greens; Mark Liston,PowerSecure, Inc.; Eric Bratcher, 5; and our moderator Gretchen Schimelpfenig, PE, Energy Resources Integration, LLC will explore how the CEA industry can leverage these programs to achieve your resiliency and sustainability goals while reducing or eliminating initial first cost (Energy as a Service) for Microgrid and renewable distributed generation projects. Part of our Planning & Operations track sponsored by PowerSecure, Inc., this session joins the full educational line-up for the March 11-12, 2024 edition at Caesars Forum Las Vegas.
