    💼 Is your client's hiring process ready for Maryland's new pay transparency mandate? The rules of recruitment are changing in Maryland. Here's what you need to know: ➡️ As of October 1, employers must include wage ranges, benefits, and other compensation in all job postings. ➡️ This law applies to positions performed in part or entirely in Maryland, even if the posting is managed by a third party. ➡️ If no posting exists, the wage range must be shared before any compensation discussions. ➡️ Employers must keep records for 3 years and cannot retaliate against candidates or employees exercising their rights under the law. 📢 Now is the time for employers to review their hiring processes and ensure compliance.     💼 Working through lunch could land a company in legal trouble. As Janice DiRose, assistant general counsel and HR consultant at Engage PEO explains: "If you're sitting at your desk and you're looking at your email and occasionally answering, you are working, … and in the US, that means you need to get paid." Under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, mealtimes are only considered breaks if workers are not engaged in the duties of their jobs. So, if they work during lunch, they're owed overtime.
