The National Chargepoint Registry (NCR), which serves as the UK’s open database for public electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint information, will be decommissioned on 28th November 2024. The closure of the NCR will coincide with new requirements under the Public Charge Point Regulations 2023, coming into effect for all public EV chargepoint operators to share open data, enabling the provision of more complete chargepoint data and spurring innovation from both existing and emerging providers. #EVcharging Cenex https://lnkd.in/eYJu-pHH

STARCHARGE AND SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC CREATE EV JV: StarCharge and Schneider Electric have signed a joint venture agreement aimed at driving innovation in the European EV and energy storage markets. The move follows the Memorandum of Understanding the pair signed in May 2024. The two comapnies say the joint venture will create a leading European prosumer company delivering #EVcharging infrastructure, photovoltaic inverters, AC and DC chargers, and storage systems to the European market. https://lnkd.in/e5tna-mu

INDUCTEV SCOOPS TIME BEST INVENTION AWARD: InductEV's wireless #EVcharging technology has been selected as a Time Best Invention for 2024, recognised for its innovative approach to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in commercial transport. The Pennsylvania-based company's technology was chosen by Time editors based on originality, efficacy, ambition and impact. MONTA OPENS US HQ: Danish EV charging software platform Monta has opened its US headquarters in Miami. Following an €80m funding round in January 2024, Monta says it aims to replicate its European success in the US market. By the end of 2025, the Miami office will house 30 employees and aims to connect 25,000 commercial #EVcharging points to its platform, with a long-term goal of reaching one million by 2030. https://lnkd.in/emKgNdCt

ChargeLab, a hardware-agnostic #EVcharging software provider and EV roaming hub ChargeHub have started a strategic partnership to enhance EV roaming capabilities across North America. The two companies say the partnership enables EV drivers across North America to have broader access to ChargeLab's network via ChargeHub, making it easier to locate and use charging stations without needing to sign up for additional services. https://lnkd.in/eZ-Qu5j5

US PASSES 200K CHARGERS: The US Joint Office of Energy and Transportation says there are now 200,000 public #EVcharging bays available nationwide, and that the US national network is well ahead of schedule to meet the Biden-Harris Administration’s target of 500,000 chargers by 2030. As of 30 September 2024, drivers can travel 57.8% of the most heavily trafficked corridors nationwide with the assurance of finding a fast charger at least every 50 miles. By the end of next year, it is expected that coverage will increase to 70% of those corridors. https://lnkd.in/ezZEY3Je

ForeFront Power has been awarded a Master Agreement for Fleet Electrification Charging, Supplies & Services, by the League Of Oregon Cities (LOC) through NPPGov, a leading national cooperative procurement organisation. The newly awarded contract allows Oregon's cities to procure fleet electrification solutions without having to navigate the complex and time-consuming process of issuing their own Request for Proposals (RFPs). Siemens Smart Infrastructure has secured a contract with Unibuss, a leading bus operator in the Greater Oslo region of Norway, for its Depot360 electrification and #EVcharging management solution. Depot360 addresses challenges faced by electric bus operators, particularly in harsh winter conditions. It ensures efficient energy delivery without overloading the grid, while enabling remote monitoring of bus charging.
