As transgender people continue to face skyrocketing rates of discrimination and violence, we’re listening to how the creator of Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV), trans activist Rachel Crandall-Crocke, has asked us to celebrate TDOV these days: “It’s not transgender people who need to be visible right now, so much as our allies.” Evergreen Health is proud to be a visible ally to transgender, nonbinary and gender expansive folks, and we’re proud that our transgender patients entrust us with their care. We offer a wide variety of medical and supportive services for transgender patients that are tailored to each individual’s goals – read about it on our blog: https://lnkd.in/gTW4vE3u

  • The Ken-Bailey Project (Evergreen and Community Access Services’ new healthcare center coming to the intersection of Kensington and Bailey Avenues) was featured in a recent Buffalo News article, “What will it take to ‘bring back Bailey’?” Read the article to learn more about how historical issues like redlining and population flight led to the challenges Buffalo’s East Side communities face today, and how a variety of community-led efforts like the Ken-Bailey Project are working to redevelop the area. As the Ken-Bailey community looks to the future, Evergreen Health and Community Access Services (CAS) are leading the Ken-Bailey Project to make inclusive and judgment-free healthcare accessible to more people in the community, with the long-term goal of eradicating health inequity through unconditional care. Learn more about the Ken-Bailey Project and how you can support it at kenbaileyproject.org. https://lnkd.in/g9A2RGt5

  • Imagine a future where access to health care goes dark. Today, we are one of 900 health centers across the state blacking out our social media to raise awareness of the urgent need for Medicaid rate reform. Despite providing essential care to 2.4 million New Yorkers, community health centers are struggling to stay open due to outdated reimbursement rates that fail to cover rising costs. Without action, access to care could disappear for those who need it most. Support the movement—join the blackout and demand Medicaid rate reform now. #BlackoutForMedicaid #HealthCareAccess #CHCANYS

  • Earlier today, Ray Ganoe, our president and CEO, and Dr. Gbadamosi, our chief medical officer, attended Congress Member Tim Kennedy’s press conference alongside dozens of local healthcare organizations and elected officials at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital to urge Congress to keep Medicaid funding in place for the most vulnerable populations. "The US House of Representatives budget resolution to cut Medicaid funding by $880 billion would result in devastating consequences for millions of people, including thousands of Evergreen Health patients," said Ray Ganoe, president and CEO of Evergreen Health. "Evergreen Health does not turn patients away from unconditional care based on their inability to pay and the potential cut to funding endangers the health and wellness of Western New York and communities across the nation. We urge Congress to protect Medicaid to ensure funding for the most vulnerable populations."
