We create, maintain, and protect sustainable mountain biking opportunities for all riders in Washington state.
About us
Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the nation's largest statewide mountain bike association, representing thousands of riders through eight regional chapters. Evergreen is committed to sustainable recreation, trail maintenance, advocacy, education, volunteerism and trail building. We are an important partner with public land managers, contributing over 30,000 hours of trail work per year. With Eight Regional Chapters and nearly 10,000 members, Evergreen is internationally known for developing world class trails, delivering quality projects, and effectively advocating for trail and public lands protection to benefit the mountain bike industry. From its first project, the Colonnade in Seattle in the mid 2000s, to the award-winning Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park in 2010, to the 20+ mile Raging River trail system in 2018, Evergreen has grown to deliver hundreds of miles of trails on a mission to make Washington State the best place to ride.

It shouldn't take you much more time than pulling your bike off the rack and gearing up for your ride (about 6-8 minutes)! As a thank you for filling out our survey, fill out your name and email address at the bottom of the survey to be entered for a chance to win a custom Evergreen Last Bag by eqpd, made locally in Twisp. Behind the scenes at the Trek at Tehaleh with rider Jim Martinson (77), his riding partner Jeff Kindle, and our Trail Program Manager, Brian Tustison, assessing features that can be adjusted to improve accessibility for adaptive riders 🤘 Jim highlighted the need for adaptive-specific adjustments, sharing stories of navigating similar features with his three-wheeled bike. The focus was on "Resto-Mod" trail to start improving accessibility for adaptive riders, with more to come. Volunteer Instructor Spotlight: Izette Swan ⭐ Evergreen has over 100 instructors around the state teaching youth and adult camps and classes! These instructors are certified through Evergreen's Instructor Certification, and trained to progress students through fundamentals and advanced skills in progressive, trail-focused, and fun class environments. This month we want to give a shout out to Izette Swan, a volunteer instructor in the Cascades to Sound Chapter. We asked Izette: What do you like about being an instructor with Evergreen? Izette: "This is my first year instructing for Evergreen. From the instructor training through teaching, it is apparent to me that this program is tops. As an instructor you are surrounded by like minded folks; people who are passionate about mountain biking, about learning and about teaching. The depth of knowledge and skill of fellow instructors is incredible. What gets me jazzed about instructing is when you see a student's face light up with an aha moment; their body language on the bike changes from stiff and scared to relaxed and balanced. That is awesome!" Learn more about Izette and her experience as an Evergreen Instructor on the blog at https://lnkd.in/gss9tKvG

A sneak peek at our Central Chapter’s latest project ⛏️ rebuilding the Rattlesnake Hill trail in Leavenworth for students at the local schools to have a safe, sustainable trail right out their backdoor! 🌲 This ¾ mile trail, located behind Icicle River Middle School and Cascade High School, will open soon as a safer alternative to the old narrow trail that’s been there for years; and will eventually connect the Chumstick Highway to Titus Road. ☝️One of the project’s goals is to give the schools a safe place to recreate and learn outdoors; and future plans include an education space at the top of the hill. The planning for the trail has been in the works for several years so we are excited to be approaching the finish line! We’ve made great progress thanks to our dedicated crew, with Trail Builder James Munly spearheading the project. 🙌 The final piece of the puzzle, before the trail officially opens, is laying down gravel to harden the trail surface, which should happen on Saturday, September 21st. Stay tuned for more info from the Central Chapter. 🤝 Thanks to our partners Chelan-Douglas Land Trust, City of Leavenworth, Cascade School District

What is a "Chapter" of Evergreen? We have 8 regional Chapters, or localized subgroups, of Evergreen across the state of Washington where we are dedicated to building and maintaining trails in those areas. When you join as a Member and select your Chapter Membership, your dues are put to work right in your own backyard, supporting local trail building and maintenance. Or, if you’d rather not choose a single Chapter, you can select "Statewide" Membership so your dues fund our work all across Washington State, including our advocacy work with policy makers and land managers. If you want to support trails all over Washington, this is a great choice! Become a Member today to power our work year-round 🌟 https://lnkd.in/gYBwG6r 🌟
