The Evergreen Center is pleased to announce our partnership with Bridgewater State University (BSU) to offer graduate-level coursework in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This collaboration reflects Evergreen's enduring commitment to advancing research in education and behavior analysis. Our alliance with BSU uniquely positions us to reinforce our dedication to evidence-based practice while providing our employees exceptional opportunities for career development in these dynamic fields. Evergreen has a rich history of working with higher education institutions to deliver premier ABA and education programs, preparing professionals for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. Our partnership with BSU ensures that we will continue to build on our academic successes for many years to come. This initiative will be led by our accomplished team of doctoral-level clinicians, who will assume leadership and academic roles at BSU, including program coordination, teaching, and curriculum development. Evergreen supports our staff with generous tuition assistance as part of our professional development model, which in turn enhances the quality of services we offer to the children and families we serve. We are proud and excited to collaborate with one of the top Special Education programs in Massachusetts, and we look forward to a long and productive relationship. Together, we aim to prepare our students to become the next generation of leaders and practitioners in the education and human services fields. #Evergreen #BridgewaterStateUniversity

Meet Shelley Brown, Health Services Associate at Evergreen! Since joining our team in 2012, Shelley has been an important member of our team, contributing to the health and safety of our students and providing valuable support to our health services department. She has a wide range of responsibilities that support the wellbeing of our students, including coordinating students’ medical appointments and ensuring that students in our residential units have the appropriate medical supplies and nutritional items to meet their needs. Outside of Evergreen, Shelley is passionate about helping rescued dogs find a permanent home. She was a volunteer with Pawfect Life Rescue, a non-profit organization that finds homes for dogs from rural areas and unsafe shelters. Through her volunteer work, Shelley’s family fostered about 70 dogs over a 7-year span! The dogs ranged in age from puppies to seniors, and her family played a huge role in helping these dogs find their forever families! Shelley’s compassion for helping others extends far beyond our students. Thank you, Shelley, for all you do in support of our students and staff, and we’re proud to have you as a member of our Evergreen community! #Evergreen #MAAPS766 #GreatWork

Meet Calice Konadu, Evening/Weekend Supervisor and Agency Charge at Evergreen!   Since joining Evergreen, Calice has been a key member of our school, advancing from the role of Instructor, to Head Teacher, and then Residential Supervisor. At Evergreen, he works with students to help them master their skills and is an excellent resource for our staff!   Calice is deeply passionate about supporting the educational development of youth in his home country of Ghana. In 2019, he founded the Ross Valley Montessori School in Kumasi, which provides a safe environment for students to receive an education and unearth their talents. For Calice, it’s important to contribute to the educational landscape of Ghana. In founding the Ross Valley Montessori School, he is providing children in his community with access to a high quality, cost affordable education where students can learn and develop in a facility that is equipped to support their skills and growth.   In the future, Calice is looking to use his experience at Evergreen to open a special education department at his school in Ghana. In doing so, the Ross Valley Montessori School will help children with learning disabilities develop basic living, personal residential maintenance, and community participation skills so they can be more independent and productive in their daily lives.   Thank you, Calice, for all you do in support of our students and staff, and we’re proud to have you as a member of our Evergreen community!   #Evergreen #MAAPS766 #GreatWork

We had a great time at the 50th annual @AssociationForBehaviorAnalysisInternational (ABAI) Convention in Philadelphia, PA!   We enjoyed discussing innovative approaches with other special education agencies and professionals from around the world. Special shoutout to our Evergreen team for their great work in presenting their research posters! Kayla Curran, Dr. Becca Hotchkiss, and Dr. Jen Albis Neal presented their research poster titled Increasing Spontaneous Mands with Speech-Generating Devices Through a Modified Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Dr. Becca Hotchkiss and Dr. Allie Caviness also presented their research poster, titled Evaluating a Monitoring System for Vaccination Restrictive Practices.    Thank you everyone for another great ABAI Convention!   #Evergreen #MAAPS766 #GreatWork #ABAI2024
