But today, four immediate industry trends are pressuring today’s firms to move forward quickly: 1. Evolving customer expectations around innovative financial technology 2. Competitive pressure from digital‑born fintech solutions 3. Evolving security threats increasingly targeting the financial industry 4. Transformed work models as employees stay remote or go hybrid The primary goal of any financial firm is to drive growth and profitability. One of the main driving forces for Private Equity firms is mergers and acquisitions (M&A) driven activity. Any organization that is looking for M&A based growth is looking to do so as: ◼ cost-effectively, efficiently & quickly as possible with ◼ minimal downtime and minimal interruption to the business that they're acquiring That’s where modern virtual desktops come in. It enables organizations to acquire new companies quickly and easily bring users into the new internal systems ✔ It SIMPLIFIES that path to MIGRATION ✔ It Introduces a PREDICTABLE COST MODEL Sure, there may still be things on the back end that have to get migrated into the new environment such as: ➖ Server architecture or infrastructure that has to come across ➖ Data that still has to migrate in ➖ Applications that still have to make the jump from company A to company B But you can IMMEDIATELY on Day 1: ✅ Provision all users in the newly acquired organization with a DaaS seat ✅ Have all employees up and running on their new organization’s systems right from the very first minute that they're working under that new reality Couple all of this with the fact that DaaS enables organizations to predict the exact cost of users and remove uncertainties that come with traditional technologies For instance, if you’re going to acquire a 100-user practice tomorrow, you will need: ◼ 100 DaaS seats ◼ 100 Office 365 / Microsoft 365 licenses ◼ Possibly Microsoft Teams, UCaaS or a Contact Center solution So, if a DaaS seat costs X, Office 365 license costs Y and contact center solution costs Z: ( X+Y+Z ) × number of users = Total cost of acquisition Now, the cost of merger & acquisition from a technology perspective is predictable whether you're acquiring five users or 5,000 users DaaS not only speeds up onboarding and simplifies the migration of an acquired or merged organization but makes the cost impact analysis much easier on the front end Sign up to our newsletter here to learn more: https://lnkd.in/eQy2cj5k

Are you an IT leader of a mid-size regulatory industry enterprise that currently leverages VDI? Which pain point below resonates the most with you? ▪ Resource-Intensive Management: VDI demands constant attention – patching, updating, provisioning desktops, and troubleshooting user issues. This is eating up valuable IT resources that could be better spent on strategic initiatives. ▪ Security Concerns: Managing security across a dispersed VDI environment is a challenge. Regulatory compliance adds another layer of complexity. There is a new siloed security tool (from a new vendor) to add that fills a new gap every other month (and yet doesn't really solve for security). ▪ Scalability Issues: Scaling up or down with VDI requires significant investment in new hardware or software licenses, hindering agility. ▪ Hidden Costs: While the initial VDI investment may seem attractive, ongoing maintenance, licensing fees, and infrastructure upgrades is draining your budget. Especially, if you are using public cloud DaaS, which often offer attractive pricing models, but incur additional costs related to data transfer, egress fees, and storage. Unlike traditional VDI solutions, Managed Desktop as a Service (DaaS) offers a compelling alternative to VDI: ▪ Reduced IT Burden: A managed DaaS provider handles all the heavy lifting – infrastructure management, security updates, user provisioning, and ongoing support. It provides IT teams the option to free themselves from the day-to-day administrative tasks such as provisioning users, software updates, maintenance etc. ▪ Minimize Security Threats with:Simplified Security Management: Because Managed DaaS providers manage the underlying infrastructure, they reduce the burden on IT teams, thereby minimizing the risk of misconfigurations or vulnerabilities. ▪ Patch Management: Managed DaaS providers typically handle security patches and updates, ensuring that systems are always up-to-date and protected against the latest threats. ▪ Access Controls: Managed DaaS solutions often include robust access controls from the same vendor, such as multi-factor authentication and role-based access, to prevent unauthorized access. ▪ Effortless Scalability: DaaS scales seamlessly to accommodate your changing needs, allowing you to add or remove users on-demand. Predictable Costs: DaaS eliminates upfront hardware costs and provides a predictable monthly subscription fee, freeing up your budget for strategic investments. Evolve IP has successfully deployed thousands of users on Evolve IP’s VMware, Citrix and Microsoft Azure DaaS and our user count keeps growing daily. Approaching security as a massive, monolithic entity makes becoming more secure an even bigger challenge. In this video, Kevin Sullivan, VP of Cloud Strategy, will walk you through why Security, itself, is not actually your top priority and what is, instead. Discover how a new way of approaching your organization’s security needs lends itself, even better, to embracing a Defense-in-Depth strategy which is both practical and more easily approachable. According to Gartner, the dominance of cloud office collaboration tools, decreased telphone usage and disruptive changes in the communication culture have redefined the consumption of Unified Communications. Here are 8 key takeaways highlighted in Gartner's Critical Capabilities Report on the UCaaS market from the past year: ▪ Cloud-based UCaaS is continuing to be the de facto solution for organizations planning to replace their legacy on-premises UC platforms to accommodate the new hybrid working requirements, where it’s possible from a regulation perspective. ▪ Traditional telephony needs have become simpler and are limited to a smaller subset of organizational users, as opposed to the entire enterprise. ▪ Most enterprise users’ telephony needs can be addressed via the internal voice over IP (VoIP) calling provided by collaboration platforms and/or mobile phone devices. As a result, UC telephony deployment will not exceed 70% of total enterprise users. ▪ Although market overlap is increasing within the broader unified communications and collaboration (UCC) spectrum, separate markets will continue to exist for UC/telephony, contact center and meetings due to advanced use cases and needs for the individual platforms. ▪ Use of external outbound calling services from a UC telephony platform is one-third of what it was five years ago, and the need to give phone numbers and a calling plan to everyone in the organization will continue to decline. ▪ It’s common for large organizations to have a platform consolidation strategy, keeping hybrid in mind to use the collaboration platform with or without telephony add-ons for most users, and keeping a separate telephony specialist platform for a small group of users. These organizations always wish to integrate telephony-centric platforms with collaboration vendors to have a unified client experience. ▪ UCaaS vendors are strongly investing in AI capabilities for voice-related services mainly focused on usage reporting, performance monitoring, user analytics, admin portals and dashboards, but are yet to find mainstream use cases in a practical environment. ▪ UCaaS pricing has somewhat stabilized and the market is seeing less aggression on competitive discounting from vendors than 12 months ago. The end-user computing (EUC) market has undergone significant changes in the past year, with the divestiture of VMware's EUC division to KKR and its rebranding as Omnissa, along with the sale of VMware to Broadcom. This has created uncertainties and risks for infrastructure and operations (I&O) leaders who use or are considering using Omnissa's products, such as Horizon, Horizon Cloud and Workspace ONE, for their desktop as a service (DaaS) needs. If you're trying to navigate the changes in the EUC market, take a look at the below document that Evolve IP's Chief Product Officer, Pete Eisengrein has put together. He shares his take on: ▪ Gartner's recent report on the future of Omnissa's EUC products ▪ How to Choose the Right EUC Solution depending on your Use Case ▪ Available Alternatives ▪ How Evolve IP can help, whether you opt for Omnissa or an alternative such as Citrix https://lnkd.in/essaMSjU
