About us

Excelsior Mining Corp. is a copper production company that owns and operates the Gunnison Copper Project in Cochise County, Arizona. The project is a low cost, environmentally-friendly "green" copper operation, permitted to 125 million pounds of copper cathode production annually. Excelsior also owns the past producing Johnson Camp Mine, which with Nuton LLC, a Rio Tinto Venture is in Stage 2 of a process to restart the mine using Nuton technologies, with first copper expected to be produced in H1 of 2025. Excelsior additionally owns a portfolio of exploration projects, including the Peabody Sill and the Strong and Harris deposits.

We are excited that Craig has joined the Excelsior team. He is joining at a critical time for Excelsior as Johnson Camp moves towards commercial production as part of the Nuton stage 2 work program and Excelsior continues to evaluate well stimulation and open pit mining opportunities at the Gunnison Project.

It was great to be back in Arizona recently to visit Excelsior Mining's Johnson Camp Mine as they begin the leach pad construction. This marks a key step in our first industrial-scale deployment, where we’ll demonstrate our venture Nuton’s innovative copper leach technologies and our commitment to more sustainable mining.
