Great to be at the Department of Commerce’s Supply Chain Summit this morning. Secretary Raimondo’s call for renewed efforts in strengthening supply chain is an important element of the focus that the Executive Branch is putting on the issue — not just Commerce but also DHS and a lot of the Sector Risk Management Agencies. At Exiger we help many Agencies across the government find and address supply chain risks while doing the same with many of the largest companies in the U.S Industrial Base and Critical Infrastructure. I appreciate the Secretary’s recognition that it is good business to “take into account the real cost of risk of supply chain vulnerabilities.” We’ve been saying that for awhile and pricing in risk mitigation and resilience for supply chains is essential for critical infrastructure companies. But, continued effort is needed across stakeholders. Supply chains of today will remain vulnerable until there is a shared, commitment to invest in key supply bases and enable companies to innovate to build tools and material necessary to strengthen resilience. Awesome to be in a room full of people who recognize that and are motivated to do so.
