Meet Erin Michelle Schlund who was recently promoted to Division Vice President over Atlanta and Georgia. 👏 Erin began her career with Extra Space Storage in 2019 as a District Manager and quickly demonstrated her ability to manage multiple stores. Her leadership skills and commitment to company values led to her promotions, including Senior District Manager in 2023, and most recently, Division Vice President. When asked about advice she'd give to future leaders, she responded that it's "better to ask questions and seize the opportunity to learn than to pretend you know something you don’t." Today marks 20 YEARS since our company's IPO on the NYSE! In celebration, Extra Space Storage CFO Scott Stubbs joined Nareit podcast host Sarah Borchersen-Keto to discuss the events leading up to that day in 2004. Listen to a short excerpt in the video below. At the time of the IPO, we had 450 employees, operated 160 properties in 20 states, and had a market cap value of around $700 million. Twenty years later, we are an S&P 500 listed company with 7,500 employees, operating 3,812 properties in 42 states, and one of the most valuable REITs with a market cap of approximately $35 billion. Scott was later quoted saying "As I reflect on the last 20 years, I am inspired by what the team has been able to accomplish. The journey the past two decades has been challenging and a lot of fun and I am excited to see what the next 20 years holds for Extra Space."
