At Faire, we make it a practice to get to know our customers through all kinds of activities—from customer support shadowing to other formal research methods like interviews and surveys. But it wasn't until earlier this year that we tried something else: becoming one of our customers. Over several months, a team of Faire designers concepted, built, and launched a three-day pop-up retail shop called Supper Club – a dinner party themed retail experience. Here's what the team learned from the process, including tips that are now a part of our customer research playbook: https://lnkd.in/gAkt_Hw3

I feel lucky to be CPO at Faire, both because we get to serve small businesses who are bringing life and energy into their neighborhoods, and because I get to work with an amazing team of dedicated, thoughtful, growth mindset folks, who push all of us to be better every day. In this role, I'm excited that Products That Count has recognized me as a top Chief Product Officer in the 2024 CPO Awards. I chatted with the Products that Count CPO Renee Niemi a few weeks ago -- sharing that here in case these tips help anyone else. We discussed things like how to simplify complex problems and find a clear vision, my approach to time management as a CPO and mom of 3, and -- most importantly -- building relationships with your customers to serve them better.
How can product leaders simplify product development through clear vision and customer focus? In the latest episode of the CPO Rising Series hosted by Products That Count Resident CPO Renee Niemi, Faire CPO Ami Vora speaks on her experiences as a product leader, including her work at WhatsApp. She discusses her superpower of simplifying complex problems, her philosophy on prioritizing customer needs, and her approach to time management and decision-making as a CPO. https://lnkd.in/gd3HFspM #productdevelopment #customerfocus #cporising
