In recent weeks, FDA environmental scientists have initiated gopher tortoise relocation efforts as part of the District Wide Gopher Tortoise contract for District 7. Gopher tortoises are a keystone species that over 350 other species rely on for survival and are protected under state law. Relocation methods such as bucket trapping or mechanical excavation allow tortoises to be captured and relocated from areas of future development to areas of prime habitat as part of the species conservation efforts. These tortoises have been transported to a recipient site in the Florida panhandle to live out the rest of their days as all gopher tortoises should: wild, free, and protected. #FallerDavis

FDA was awarded the District 5 Traffic Engineering Continuing Services Contract! Congrats to Rich and the team for winning this important contract! Under this contract the FDA team will continue its partnership with FDOT District 5 to conduct traffic studies, signal retiming, and traffic and roadway pushbutton designs that will improve operations and safety for all the District’s roadway users. #FallerDavis

Congratulations to Jackson on attaining his Florida PE License! In his time at FDA, Jackson has been an integral part of the drainage team, working on the design and plans production for the SR 29 New Market Rd and US 41 RRR projects.
