Robert Sanchez, Payroll Manager at FTOC, began his journey of service in 2002 when he joined the United States Marine Corps shortly after high school. He trained at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, CA, and served as an Artillery Cannon Crew Member. During his initial enlistment, Robert deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, sustaining injuries from two IED blasts during his second deployment in Al Anbar Province. Following this experience, Robert transitioned into Career Planning within Human Resources, focusing on Retention, Career Development, Employee Engagement, and Military Transition. In 2012, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After nearly 15 years of faithful service, he retired in 2017 with an Honorable Discharge. We are proud to have Robert as part of Families Together of Orange County Community Health Center and thank him for his courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our country. #veteransday

Elizabeth Martinez, Care Coordinator at FTOC, began her journey of service at 18, leaving her hometown of Laguna Niguel to join the United States Army. She served for six years as a parachute rigger, supporting elite Special Forces units in North Carolina and Colorado. Elizabeth conducted airborne operations, completed specialized training, and achieved an impressive 46 jumps. Dedicated to supporting fellow veterans, Elizabeth continues her service at FTOC while pursuing her Master of Healthcare Administration degree to further her impact as a healthcare administrator. We are proud to have Elizabeth with us at Families Together of Orange County Community Health Center and thank her for her commitment, bravery, and service to our country. #veteransday

Charles Wetter, Physician Assistant in FTOC's Mobile Unit, dedicated nearly 37 years to serving our country across multiple branches of the military. Enlisting in August 1970, Charles served in the Navy and Coast Guard as a Corpsman before advancing to the roles of Medical Officer in the California Army National Guard and the Army. Throughout his distinguished career, Charles provided critical medical support in combat zones, including Vietnam, and supported missions in Grenada, Korea, and Operation Desert Storm. He continued to answer the call during post-9/11 mobilization at LAX, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and other crucial missions. We are proud to have Charles as a vital part of Families Together of Orange County Community Health Center's Mobile Unit and deeply thank him for his decades of dedication, resilience, and service to our country. #veteransday

To kick off our $50.1 million cancer screening effort, CalOptima Health awarded $16 million in first-round grant funding to 13 organizations. Last week, the grantees gathered at CalOptima Health to present their individual programs to promote awareness, increase outreach and work toward the shared goal of detecting cancer in the early stages when it’s more treatable. CalOptima Health’s Comprehensive Community Cancer Screening and Support Program is designed to help Orange County achieve the lowest incidence rate nationwide for late-stage breast, cervical, colon and certain lung cancers.
