Now that baseball season is nearing it's end, we wanted to take you back to when Dr. Thomas Starzl threw the first pitch at a Pittsburgh Pirates game in 1984. ⚾ Dr. Starzl was the world's liver transplant pioneer. After recently being recruited to Pittsburgh, the city quickly became the center for organ transplants. This left one question though: where would people stay find shelter, comfort, and support while their loved ones underwent lengthy, leading-edge medical procedures?
