About us

The Fashion Scholarship fund is an international non-profit organization composed of influential members of the fashion industry. Our goal is to advance the fashion industry by encouraging gifted and enterprising young people to pursue careers in design, merchandising, retailing and business so the industry will continue to attract dedicated, capable and creative individuals. We regard our scholarship grants as a very worthwhile investment in the future of the fashion industry and, since inception, have awarded millions of dollars in scholarships to thousands of students nationwide from 60 member universities. Record donations of over $20 million have been received in the past ten years. As further support to scholars, we facilitate internships with prestigious fashion companies and provide career mentoring by prominent senior executives who serve on our Board of Governors.

In advance of tonight's #CFDAAwards, designer LaQuan Smith invited three of our Virgil Abloh™️ "Post-Modern" Scholars–Kev Addison, Fatmata Camara, and Ahmrii Johnson–to his New York offices for an exclusive tour of his design studio and to meet with LaQuan to talk about life in the fashion industry, what LaQuan has learned throughout his career, and more. In partnership with Samsung, LaQuan has also invited them to join him at tonight's CFDA Awards in NYC. We're so grateful to LaQuan and Samsung for this incredible opportunity, and can't wait to share the highlights from this evening. Stay tuned for more!

"I’ve been in my role as an Assistant Buyer for Women's Ready to Wear for about a month now, and have been fortunate enough to visit some of our brands' showrooms, including Ralph Lauren and Zadig & Voltaire. Merchandising is the perfect blend of my analytical and creative nature - and as a previous intern for Bloomingdale's, it has been a great welcome back." Thanks for sharing with us, Nailah!

Congratulations to our partners at Macy's for the recent launch of their private men's brand, Mode of One! We loved collaborating with their team on our Macy's Mens Design and Marketing Challenge earlier this year, in which '24 Virgil Abloh™️ "Post-Modern" Scholar Shayla Pearson and '23 Virgil Abloh™️ "Post-Modern" Scholar Angel Stewart were named winners of the design and marketing competitions, respectively. The collection is now live at Macy's, and for more info, click here to read all about it on WWD: https://lnkd.in/dRZTScVX.
