Richa Thapliyal is a seasoned operations leader with a strong background in strategy and operations. With over 15 years of experience across diverse industries, Richa has lived and worked in three countries- Canada, India, and US. Holding an MBA & MSc in International Business along with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Richa is passionate about creating systemic changes to drive meaningful impact for the animals. Max Adams is a technology investor interested in harnessing private sector and public sector tools to promote ethical, environmentally conscious, and healthy food systems. Max is an MBA student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and an MPA student at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Deep Dhillon is a strategic business advisor who has completed several career chapters already, including engineering at Stantec, management consulting with the Boston Consulting Group, and internal consulting, strategy, and HR roles as a Director at Bell Canada. With an MBA and a proven track record of strategic problem-solving across industries, Deep recently shifted his focus to the animal rights and welfare space.

Join us in welcoming Meghann Cant to the Faunalytics team as our new Research Library Manager! When she was young, Meghann dreamed of helping animals by becoming a veterinarian, but as an undergraduate, she discovered animal welfare science and never looked back. After pursuing a Master’s degree in the field, she went on to work for the British Columbia SPCA. It was there that she discovered her passion for knowledge translation, communicating animal welfare science to kids as part of the organization’s humane education department. From there, Meghann joined the BC SPCA’s science and policy team, where she specialized in companion animal welfare. A new study from Faunalytics, out today, shows the results of an experiment in which nearly 3,000 U.S. adults were placed in a virtual supermarket and asked to make purchasing decisions like they would in real life. Each of these virtual supermarkets had differing amounts of Certified Humane animal products, “Humanely Raised” products (an effectively meaningless marketing term), and unlabeled products. After the shopping experience, Faunalytics asked the participants what they remembered about the labels and what they thought they meant, as well as calculating how these labels affected their shopping cart choices.
