We love what we do. Witnessing the community gather in spaces we’ve designed is our greatest award. Seeing people appreciate our designs, even decades after their completion. Whether it’s games at the ballpark, students enjoying school amenities, teachers personalizing their classrooms, or the community gathering for a fireworks show at the park; we think of the future as we design in the present. Our pride for our projects is unmatched when it comes to the continuing result of our collaboration. #SmartBeautifulSpaces #DesignExcellence #CommunityImpact #HumanCenteredDesign #BuildingCommunity #PrideInDesign

We are proud to present the Rick Fawley Economic Development Award of Distinction each year, celebrating individuals who make significant strides in advancing our local economy. During the 2024 Bradenton Area EDC Annual Update Luncheon, we had the honor of recognizing Dr. Carol F. Probstfeld for her leadership at the State College of Florida-Manatee-Sarasota and her service to the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors. Rick Fawley was deeply committed to our community. We take pride in carrying on this piece of his legacy. Each year, the chosen recipient embodies the passion and dedication he championed daily. Congratulations to Dr. Probstfeld! #EconomicDevelopement #EconomicLeadership #RickFawleyAward #AwardRecipient #AnnualUpdate

At Fawley Bryant, we pride ourselves on our kindness. In fact, it’s such an important piece of who we are that it is now represented as one of our four core values: We are kind. It is the essence of who we are, how we approach every interaction, and how we find our people — from team members to partners to clients. Did you know? Today is world kindness day! What kindness have you seen today, and what kindness have you put out into the world? Spreading kindness can be as simple as making the effort to actively listen to a presenting coworker or share a smile as you pass through the office. These small moments of positive shared experiences add up, and you may find that you get back all the kindness that you give away. #SpreadKindness #WorldKindnessDay #RandomActsofKindness #KindessInTheWorkplace #CoreValues

Last Friday, I had the honor of standing onstage alongside my partner, Stu Henderson, to present the annual Rick Fawley Economic Development Award of Distinction. This event, hosted by the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation, is a highlight each year—a moment to recognize someone who has left a meaningful mark on our community. It's strange to think that I never met Rick. I’ve represented his brand and his name for the past 8 1/2 years, and yet, I feel like I missed knowing someone remarkable. Here’s what I do know about Rick: he was deeply community-focused, a true people-person who believed in “chasing the relationship, not the job.” He was known for his humor, his intelligence, and for understanding the value of not taking yourself too seriously. He was also a great mentor—something I now appreciate as I work closely with his mentee, Stu, who continues to teach me every day. The legacy Rick left behind is powerful; even today, people call our firm because they remember Rick. They still want to work with "Rick’s team." Almost ten years after his passing, his influence remains woven into our firm, and it's both a privilege and a responsibility to carry his vision forward. I'm proud that at Fawley Bryant Architecture, we keep his spirit and his community-driven focus at the core of who we are. What a #legacy. What an #honor.

The 37.8-acre Matzke Transportation and Maintenance Facility Complex in Bradenton, FL, is dedicated to school bus support and operations. To update the old facilities, we completed design and construction in 2011, and after a decade had passed, we also completed renovations in 2022. The project site spans over 120,000 sq. ft. and included the demolition of antiquated facilities and construction of modern offices, support spaces, maintenance shops, vehicle repair bays, a fuel depot, and a bus wash. Additional site work encompassed the development of areas for vehicle storage, car parking, bus parking, and stormwater management. A major focus during design was optimizing traffic flow to ensure smooth maneuverability for the buses served each day. Creating both interior and exterior spaces which are supportive of the interaction of people alongside large machinery and automobiles requires some creative problem solving, but luckily that’s what we do best at FBA! #FacilityUpgrades #CommunityInfrastructure #PublicServiceDesign #SitePlanning #CreativeSolutions

Last Friday, the Manatee Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual member appreciation cookout, and a few of our team members joined in to enjoy hot dogs and ice cream. Although the event celebrated the companies who invest in the Chamber, we want to turn the appreciation back to them. The Manatee Chamber brings purpose and opportunity to us all, supporting the growth of our business community. Their team does an incredible job creating networking opportunities, learn about local business and news, explore new interests, volunteer, and build genuine relationships. We are extremely fortunate to live and work in this community!

At FBA, every day of October began with a quick lesson in continued learning. “Microlearning,” that is! It’s incredibly important to remember that learning is a continuous and constant activity, and we should seek to learn something new every day. Each day, a member of the team would share a quick 5-minute tip, trick, or lesson to better the team. Some were leadership styles, others were collaboration methods, and many were hacks and in-depth details about the programs our team uses on a day-to-day basis. It’s a great reminder that seeking to grow your knowledge doesn’t have to be an hours-long process. Education begins with just a couple minutes of focus. It’s up to you where it grows from there! #ProfessionalGrowth #CultureOfLearning #TeamDevelopment

Halloween season came right on time, and we celebrated the season the FBA Way — with our annual Halloween Spooktacular! Six weeks ago, each of our participating teammates were given a monster to transform into. Pitted against one another, we divided everyone into two teams. Each pair went head-to-head to compete for the title of Best Version of their assigned monster. At the event, the teams went head-to-head. The excitement of keeping your plan a secret from the other team throughout the office, sharing your plans and progress on your costume with your teammates, and putting heads together to help brainstorm ideas to implement make this contest a favorite for many within the FBA Team. It may surprise you, but the eager anticipation of our Halloween Costume Contest really brings everyone in the office together, with good natured fun and healthy competition. Who do YOU think won in each pairing?

“Since moving to Florida, I’ve been searching for a workplace that embodies true collaboration, creativity, and warmth. I wanted a place where "TEAM" holds real meaning—where egos are left at the door and a passion for learning thrives. I finally found that at FBA. Here, principals are always accessible and embrace teaching moments to share their expertise. Not knowing something isn’t seen as a setback; it’s viewed as an opportunity for growth. The FBA staff is friendly and always ready to lend a helping hand. The projects and designs are fresh, innovative, and ever-evolving, making it an exciting and fulfilling place to work and be part of.” Brandon, Project Manager, Architect
