"The first is the need for broad-based talent within finance teams. The scope of the function has expanded, so are you building the right bench, including folks with data science and engineering capabilities? Second, the intersection between finance and strategy—this push and pull of short term and long term—is more acute than ever, and many CFOs are placing more emphasis on linking finance and strategy in the budgeting cycle. We expect resource and capital allocation will become important topics on CFOs’ agendas in the next 12 to 24 months."

GCP, Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland State University have partnered to create an internship program for students in STEM fields. This Summer STEM program has placed more than 240 students at 80+ companies throughout Greater Cleveland since 2022. This week, we're catching up with Keith Carrafiello, a senior at Case, who spent his summer in Case's biologically inspired robotics lab, working as a worm robot fluidic control engineer. Working with physical systems, he's been able to apply what he's learned in his circuit and pressure mechanics courses.
