Carmen's* life took a devastating turn last spring when a car accident set off a chain of personal, professional, and health challenges. Struggling without a reliable vehicle, she felt trapped, as if every step forward was met with two steps back. In the midst of this chaos and uncertainty, she held tightly to her faith and hope. She applied for a vehicle through the Cars of Hope ministry, a nonprofit run by volunteers that repair and donate cars to under-resourced families in the Chicagoland area. At the right time, she received an email that changed everything; she had been approved. Overwhelmed with emotion, Carmen said, "When I saw the van that would be perfect for my family, I was shocked, speechless. I no longer have to worry if my car will start or rely on Ubers. This year, Fellowship Housing hit an exciting milestone as we hosted a fundraising team to run in the Life Time Half Marathon and 5K on Sunday, September 29th, 2024! 🏃♀️🏅 We didn’t know what to expect, but thanks to the passion and leadership of Steven Long Jr., this dream became a reality.
