🎉 Our team at Fifth Window is extremely excited to share some BIG news - we have been selected as one of the nurse-led and nurse-founded companies joining NurseApproved at HLTH USA 2024! 🎉 Our work started in 2020 during the #NurseHack4Health COVID-19 Virtual Hackathon, hosted as a collaborative between SONSIEL - Society of Nurse Scientists, Innovators, Entrepreneurs & Leaders, Johnson & Johnson, and Microsoft. At that time we wanted to bring light and awareness to the mental health and well-being challenges that nurses and healthcare workers face regularly. After the hackathon, our goal was to rethink the way that healthcare views mental health - we wanted to de-stigmatize self-care and well-being, and close the gap between nurses and much-needed tools. During our time with NurseApproved at HLTH USA, our goal is to bring joy in healthcare, and connect nurses so that they can thrive together! "How are you so happy?" I was asked this countless times early in my nursing career. As I changed roles, the question faded, but its significance never did. Nursing is tough—balancing patient care, team dynamics, and the emotional strain is overwhelming. It’s a profession that tests your limits daily. When my team and I started Fifth Window, our mission was clear: to support nurses' well-being. Along the way, I realized many had lost the joy that once fueled them. That’s why I’m reintroducing myself here on LinkedIn. My "why" is to build a community where nurses can uplift each other and reignite the passion that brought us to this calling. In the coming months, I’ll be sharing more about my journey and our team's work. I look forward to rediscovering the joy in nursing, together.

Charlene here 👋🏼 This photo was taken when I was a charge nurse, only 4️⃣ months after I completed my nurse residency program. Part of the reason why I love to reflect on this photo is because it helps me recognize how much I've grown since then in my nursing career. Another reason is being able to share my experiences with other nurses who are new to their leadership journeys. Today I had the honor of presenting the importance of nurturing self-care and emotional well-being to the newest cohort of the Rush University Charge Nurse Fellowship. Whenever I give this presentation I love to share where I've come from on my journey and what I've learned since then - how I've experienced #growth as a nurse.
