"Love is not a feeling, it's an ability... and if it's an ability, then it is my responsibility." - Sharon Salzberg Here is one hour that will change your life for the better. This week on the Finding Mastery podcast, meditation pioneer and best selling author Sharon Salzberg returns to spread a message we all need to hear right now. We explore how mindfulness and loving-kindness can help us navigate our divided world and create more meaningful connections. Sharon explains how working from love, rather than anger, can drive positive change. And it all stems from the concept that love isn’t just a feeling, but an ability… and beyond that, a responsibility. This conversation is packed with insights that will challenge and inspire you to rethink your approach to mindfulness. We’re in this together, and I can’t wait for us to experience the results. Simply amazing performances from Simone Biles and Suni Lee today. Seeing every gymnast compete to be the best version of themselves, while the whole world is watching them... while "competing against" each other... again, amazing. What does it take? What is the mindset of stepping onto that floor? Well, we don't have to wonder. We have someone who has done it. Our very own Nastia Liukin. In Day 7 of The Game Inside the Games on Finding Mastery, Nastia and I continue our deep dive into the psychological intricacies of women's gymnastics. Nastia reveals the hidden aspects of the all-around competition, the internal dialogue she had while competing, and what it’s like to look up at the scoreboard after competing in the event she had dreamed about for so long. Whether you're a gymnastics enthusiast or simply fascinated by the psychology of elite performance, this conversation provides an unprecedented look into what it takes to be your very best and compete at the highest level. The topic of mental health exists on a large spectrum – and right now... the conversation is focused on dysfunction, not health. It’s time to flip the script. So, how are these elite athletes helping change the narrative? On Day 4 of The Game Inside The Games, live from Paris, five-time medalist Nastia Liukin and I explore the topic of mental health in the context of one of the biggest sporting events on the planet. We discuss the importance of mental skills training, the evolving conversation around mental health in sports, and how athletes like Simone Biles have influenced this dialogue. Do other people’s expectations motivate you? Or do they make you crumble? Does the weight of gold expectations make or break an athlete’s Olympic dream? On Day 3 of The Game Inside The Games, Nastia Liukin and I sit down with one of the most decorated athletes in skiing history, Lindsey Vonn, to explore how expectations impact performance. Lindsey shares her journey as a world-class skier, discussing the mental and emotional challenges she faced throughout her career. From one of our recent episodes, Dr. Mike's long-time mentor Gary shared this beautiful nugget of wisdom. How are you a teacher today? A student? With Fire, The FM Team

"We are all teachers, and we are all students, all of the time." 📚🧠 These words resonate deeply with me as they encapsulate the essence of continual growth and learning... In every interaction - in every experience - we have the opportunity to both impart wisdom and absorb knowledge. No days off. Recognizing ourselves as both teachers and students allows for a beautiful exchange of insights and ideas. Whether we're mentoring a colleague, guiding a team, or engaging in a conversation, there's always something to learn and something to teach. My long-time mentor, Gary DeBlasio, shared this thought in one of our most recent Finding Mastery podcast conversations. Check it out wherever you get your podcasts. What are your thoughts on this philosophy? How do you embody the roles of teacher and student in your daily life? I'd love to hear your perspective... *grinning*
