“What’s the tipping point that leads executive clients to come and work with you?” I asked this question last week to the wonderful and amazing Executive Coach, Itir Keskiner, MBA, PCC. After a long and thoughtful pause (as she often does), she answered, "Usually there’s something in their life that has thrown them out of whack." She mentioned for some clients that means relationship troubles or divorces, for others it's health-related issues, for others, it's family dynamics, but the commonality is that life is the culprit impacting the career. And for her clients, who are used to operating at the highest level in their career but no longer are, they are eager to understand what's going on and resolve it. If you’ve ever experienced this before, it can be incredibly disorienting, confusing, and stressful. But, know that you’re not alone. Many successful professionals, leaders, and executives have been right where you are, and what we find is that self-awareness is the first step to getting back in alignment. . . . If this sounds like you and you're looking for support, learn more about Itir's coaching and book a complimentary call at finkdevelopment dot com /collective. 🙋♀️ She has 2 open executive coaching spots for the fall. Maybe one could be yours. #Careers #Leadership #ProfessionalDevelopment #PersonalDevelopment

Fink Development | Career and Executive Coaching for Mid-Career Senior Professionals and Leaders reposted this
Yesterday, I was in the airport security line and saw a guy in front of me who was all over the place. He was flustered, trying to gather his stuff, and dropped his phone. He went through security only to realize he still had his belt on, then came back and dropped something else. Everyone was staring, frustrated that he was holding up the line. Instead of getting annoyed, I gave him a quick smile and said, "It's OK." He seemed to calm down a bit after that. Pressure impacts people in different ways. As a leader, we need to recognize the difference between pressure that motivates and pressure that debilitates. When people are flustered and start making mistakes, adding more pressure doesn't help—it only makes things worse. The next time you see someone on your team struggling, pause. Maybe what they need isn’t more pressure, but a simple reminder that it’s okay to take a breath and reset. Great leadership is knowing when to push and when to step back to help others regain their confidence. #Leadership #WorkplacePressure #TeamSupport #ManagingStress #EmployeePerformance #LeadershipTips

True or False? A recruiter will spend ~6 seconds on your resume. Here's the scoop that we know: The statistic originally dates back to 2012, when a company called the Ladders ran a study with eye-tracking software to see how resumes were reviewed and for how long. From this study, they determined that the average amount of time spent on a resume was 6 seconds. They went on to redo the study in 2018 and updated the figure to 7.4 seconds. From the study design that was publicly posted, we can safely say we’re not sure about the validity of the study itself. Yet the statistic spread far and wide quickly because: 1) It was a catchy study with a catchy result. 2) To individuals who review hundreds of resumes a day the statistic feels pretty accurate. So, while we don't know the exact number of seconds someone is spending on your resume, what we can say is that whether they are spending 6 seconds, 8 seconds, or even 30 seconds you need a way to capture their attention quickly. Luckily we've got you covered. If you want to learn how to take your base resume to the top 1% of candidates with 3 easy steps. Wondering which clients get the most out of coaching? According to Life and Executive coach Itir Keskiner, MBA, PCC, it's the ones who truly trust in the process and are ready to roll up their sleeves and dig in. We couldn't agree more. If you've been on the fence about working with a coach, you can know you're ready when you're willing to let go and believe that you will get out of coaching what you put in. #Careers #Coaching #PersonalDevelopment #ProfessionalDevelopment
