Yesterday’s First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) Frontline Supervisor 1 training focused on the DISC Assessment, giving participants insights into their own communication and behavioral styles—and equipping them to connect more effectively with their teams. What a great day for the First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) Leadership Academy’s Front Line Supervisor training class at Johnson & Johnson MedTech! The group kicked off by reviewing two key homework assignments: 1) conducting a GROW performance coaching conversation with an employee and 2) evaluating their team with a "Skill/Will" matrix, both crucial leadership tools. The group conversations focused on the importance of practicing and learning how to embed the GROW coaching model into their everyday leadership skill set. And by completing their “Skill/Will” matrix assessment, each class participant now has the basis for a formal development improvement conversation with each member of their team. These tools represent the cornerstone of leadership in action, and each class member was encouraged to continue practicing the GROW coaching model. The focus then shifted to problem-solving, where participants explored techniques like DMAIC, fishbone diagrams, and SMART goal setting. They even applied these tools to real challenges, gaining hands-on experience. After lunch, the group toured the facility, including a production unit, and learned about J&J Med Tech’s operations. Huge thanks to Johnson & Johnson MedTech for hosting the day's session! Special thanks to Michael Wasilenko, Danielle Campbell, Howard Parker, Efrain Santana, Daniel Nieves, Rayonna Gordon, Billy Scott and the entire J&J team for making this day unforgettable. From providing the meals to organizing the schedule, to presenting the overview and providing the plant tour--everything was top-notch. What an incredible day at the FCMA Women Leaders in Manufacturing inaugural event! 💫 Last Thursday, we welcomed 150 women in manufacturing for a sold-out afternoon of networking, learning, and meaningful conversations at the beautiful Garden Club. From insightful keynotes to inspiring panels to sponsor spotlights, the energy in the room was electric! A huge thank you to Lauren Hodges, Ed. D., our keynote speaker, for sharing practical strategies on managing stress—especially in high-pressure environments—and leading interactive activities that helped us uncover our stress styles. Her talk resonated with so many working in male-dominated fields. We also had an engaging panel discussion with Chris Khol, Nakia Jackson, MBA, Deb Willems, and Josie Mendez, who shared their tips for success, advice on navigating challenges, and how to ensure our voices are heard in the workplace. What a significant week it has been for our company. We started off with the inauguration of our second manufacturing facility, The Normandy Campus. With the opening of an additional facility, we will triple our manufacturing capacity this year and create approximately 250 good-paying new jobs for the community of Jacksonville. Another milestone this week was the launch of our new website. Creating a site that highlights not only our company, but the people of Stellar Energy who make this all possible has been an extraordinary process. We are thrilled to share it with you.
