As the summer comes to an end, I would like to take a moment to reflect on my internship experience at Fisher Engineering, a Bowman company. This summer, I had the privilege of working as a fire protection intern, gaining invaluable experience in the field of fire protection systems. My role involved CAD drafting, Bluebeam markups, and hydrant calculations, all of which contributed to the design of efficient and reliable fire protection systems for buildings. Throughout this internship, I enhanced my technical skills while deepening my understanding of how engineering solutions directly impact safety and compliance. The projects I worked on allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, giving me insight into both the complexities and the importance of fire protection systems. I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone at Fisher Engineering who supported me along this journey Doug Fisher, PE, FSFPE Will Higgins, P.E. Brian Carnazza.
