About us
For nearly a century, the Florida Chamber of Commerce has fought for free enterprise and worked to secure Florida’s future. Through research, advocacy and leadership, the Florida Chamber Foundation, the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Chamber Political Operations work together to help make our vision of Florida’s future a reality. This vision led to the development of a long-term strategic plan for Florida, also known as the Six Pillars™ 20-year Strategic Plan. As we faced the closing years of the last decade, Florida’s economy was clearly changing and the politics of Florida were calling for the business community to unite. Despite temporary loss in population growth, it was clear Florida would be facing an expanded population between five and seven million more residents by the year 2030. We must do a better job planning for the next seven million Floridians than we did for the last seven million.

Chief Innovation Officer, Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute | Digital Mental Health | AI for Strategic Impact
I was delighted to invite the incomparable Katie Jones-Yeutter to join Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute on stage to share the innovative work Florida Chamber of Commerce is leading to improve #mentalhealth outcomes for Floridians. I was especially excited to hear Katie talk about how more businesses can get involved with the effort. Learn more about the work ⬇️ #partnership #innovation #BHT2024
🧠 Driving Workplace Mental Health at the Behavioral Health Tech Conference! 🧠 We’re thrilled to be in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Behavioral Health Tech Conference! Today, our COO & CFO, Katie Jones-Yeutter, represented the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Florida Chamber Leadership Cabinet on Safety, Health and Sustainability on the C-suite panel, "Mind Your Business: Florida’s Blueprint for Behavioral Health Innovation." The session spotlighted the Florida Chamber Health Council’s nation’s first statewide, business-led mental health research report, thanks to our Research Roundtable Partners. Katie shared a powerful insight: ❝The health of Floridians depends on the leadership of our state’s 3.5 million businesses, which employ over 10.7 million people and provide health insurance to more than half of all nonelderly Floridians and two out of every five children.❞ This means that Florida businesses are at the heart of a healthier, safer workforce. By proactively addressing mental health, they can enhance workplace safety, boost productivity, and drive the economic well-being of the entire state. Through tools, resources, and partnerships, Florida’s businesses have the power to shape a workforce ready to thrive. 📄Download the report here: https://lnkd.in/ew-sWP9F #MentalHealth #BHT2024 #BehavioralHealth #FloridaBlueprint #Workplace #Florida #FloridaChamberHealthCouncil

Did you know 280,000 Floridians are unable to work due to limited access to affordable childcare? Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation leaders like Kyle Baltuch, EVP of the Florida Chamber Foundation, and Makayla Buchanan, Director of Early Learning and Literacy, are at the forefront of change. Together, they’re connecting business, policy, and community leaders to tackle Florida’s childcare crisis, a vital step for our workforce and economy. #FutureOfFlorida #EarlyLearning
If you have 5 minutes in your schedule today, read this article by the Miami Herald's, Max Klaver. Unfortunately, Ryan’s story (who is featured in this article) isn’t an isolated case. A Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation Analysis of the most recent U.S. Census Bureau Pulse Survey found that more than 280,000 Floridians have either left, lost, or aren’t currently looking for a job due to the lack of access to quality, affordable childcare. 280,000 Floridians. That’s more than the number of individuals we have added to the job roles over the past 16 months. 280,000 Floridians, sitting on the sideline, looking for the opportunity to get back to work, yet unable to do so. The Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Untapped Potential found that this childcare crisis was the number one reason parents with children under the age of six left their job, and the economic impact to the state exceeded $5.3 billion annually. This is why the Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Business Alliance for early learning exists. This is why we are partnering everyday with leaders from the business, policy, and non-profit sectors to address this crisis. Yes, educating our youngest learners in Florida is vital to the success of our future workforce, but is also has extraordinary implications on our current workforce and the growth of Florida’s economy. If we are going to build by the 10th largest economy in the world by 2030, we have to get this right. Fortunately, we have a full-time leader in Makayla Buchanan, who is working with our Business Alliance For Early Learning Advisory Board on this issue day in and day out. So, if you are seeing this challenge impact your community, let us know. Together, we can move the needle, and ultimately, grow our economy. https://lnkd.in/eg_EiyCn
