The City of Lake Worth Beach, the Lake Worth Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and the Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts (WMODA) is pleased to announce that a partnership with the Chihuly Studio of Seattle has been reached to bring a permanent art installation and immersive Chihuly experience to WMODA in the City of Lake Worth Beach. The proposed WMODA Project, currently being considered by the City and CRA, entails the construction of a 33,000-square-foot museum dedicated to the Fired Arts. Through his continued relationship with Dale Chihuly, Arthur Wiener, WMODA’s benefactor, has secured a commitment from the Chihuly Studio to partner with the Museum to create a new cultural experience in Lake Worth Beach that promises to captivate the imagination of residents and visitors alike. As one of only eight other permanent Chihuly exhibitions in the World, WMODA Lake Worth Beach would now enter the realm of being an international destination for lovers of the fired arts and Chihuly in particular. #RedevelopmentWorks #Redevelopment #FloridaRedevelopment #MyFRA #FLRedevelopment #chihuly #LakeWorthBeach #LakeWorthBeachCRA

Ask anyone who frequents the area: downtown Kissimmee, especially the Broadway corridor, can be no picnic to drive, walk or bike. At an Osceola Chamber-sponsored Downtown Kissimmee Update last week, the city and its traffic engineering consultant AECOM revealed its plan to try to improve things for all of those groups. The “Connect Kissimmee” project has the go-ahead from the City Commission, and the idea is to transform the stretch from John Young Parkway to Neptune Road and give it an identity. #RedevelopmentWorks #Redevelopment #FloridaRedevelopment #MyFRA #FLRedevelopment #kissimmee #downtownKissimmee

Downtown Orlando’s inflatable pigeons, which are perched atop buildings as part of a public art project, have decided not to fly the coop, even amid winds and rain caused by Hurricane Helene. The 16-foot-tall birds (when inflated) were wrapped up, deflated and looked much less pigeon-like when seen from the sidewalk on Thursday as gusty winds whipped palm fronds around on downtown streets. Bungalower’s Brendan Bunting O’Connor posted on social media that they are “hunkered” for the storm. The birds first landed in the City Beautiful’s urban center in August, thanks to funds set aside for public art. The $1.36 million yearlong initiative is led by Orlando’s Downtown Development Board/Community Redevelopment Agency with the help of United Arts of Central Florida, Creative City Project and the Downtown Arts District. #RedevelopmentWorks #Redevelopment #FloridaRedevelopment #MyFRA #FLRedevelopment #downtownorlando #orlandoCRA

For over six decades, Club Eaton was a vibrant hub where Eatonville residents gathered for nights of dancing and live music. The club, which opened in 1946 during segregation, hosted legendary entertainers such as James Brown and Aretha Franklin. Although the doors closed in 2008, plans are underway to restore the historic venue thanks to a state grant aimed at preserving Eatonville’s cultural history. Malcolm Jones, owner of MAJ Architecture and Design, is leading the renovation effort. “It’s amazing, but a little scary when you take on the task of historic preservation,” said Jones. He provided a status update to Eatonville’s Community Redevelopment Agency on Thursday. #RedevelopmentWorks #Redevelopment #FloridaRedevelopment #MyFRA #FLRedevelopment #Eatonville #EatonvilleCRA

The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Advisory Board and regular Board met Monday in a joint session workshop to discuss the CRA’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Main Street CRA was first discussed and that included Donaldson Park with its numerous projects such as the pickleball courts and splash pad. CRA Chairman Rick Hayes began by allocating funding from the splash pad toward the pickleball courts as they “were well over” for funding. This newly allocated funding would be specified for eight “premier” tournament-quality pickleball courts with shading. Hayes said that the shading would “set us aside in the county.” #RedevelopmentWorks #Redevelopment #FloridaRedevelopment #MyFRA #FLRedevelopment #avonparkCRA
