🌟 I had the fantastic opportunity last week to facilitate a virtual session for the Florida Nonprofit Alliance. I had spoken to my friend and two-time podcast guest Hardy Smith, IOM about the concept my Mastermind colleagues know is a decade-old favorite of mine: Planning a Personal Strategic Retreat. Hardy thought his consulting colleagues would enjoy the topic. Big thanks to Liz Wooten MPA and Leah Donelan McDermott for welcoming me into a mix of fantastic nonprofit consultants. Four suggestions for planning YOUR personal strategy retreat: 1. Sharpen Your Focus. Write your personal case for support and let that guide your visioning and reflections. 2. Stack Your Skills. I use a 12-skills worksheet to evaluate my progress every year and set a plan to amplify one strength and work on one weakness. 3. Amplify Your Voice. Increase your influence and visibility by developing a content plan: writing, speaking and presentations. 4. Build Your Community. Identify comparable and aspirational peers; create a plan to connect with three each month.
