We’ve been so excited to share the news about our partnership with Car Masters and Gotham Garage! For those unfamiliar with the show, it’s a Netflix original series that follows the team at Gotham Garage while they custom-build cars from the frame up — now with the help of their Flow waterjet. Check out this official clip to see what’s in store for this season. https://loom.ly/QyIjDfs Mark your calendars, set those reminders, and join us on October 23rd for the premiere of season 6! #FlowWaterjet #WaterjetCutting #CarMasters #Netflix #GothamGarage #Waterjet #Automotive #Partnership #CustomCars #Fabrication #Restoration #CarBuild

What is stream lag and how do I fix it? Stream lag, also known as trail back, is a deflection of a waterjet caused by cutting material. The exit point of the stream along the bottom of the material trails behind the entrance point of the stream at the top of the material. The faster the material is cut, the greater the stream lag. To reduce stream lag, reduce the speed you’re cutting your material at. With an abrasive waterjet, anything under 25% should work. With pure waterjet, it may take some test cutting at lower speeds to verify the stream lag has diminished. #FlowWaterjet #WaterjetCutting #FAQFriday #StreamLag

Take a sneak peek at some shop requirements when it comes to preparing for your waterjet: - Clean Air Supply: The air compressor you use now will likely work! This is used for adjusting the water level control, operating actuators, and solenoids, and for drying off your cut part. - Electrical: For convenience, all power should be derived from a single connection point, powering pumps ranging from 30-200 HP, as well as the machines controls and operating system. - Water: Most systems will utilize 1-2 gpm (3.79-7.57 lpm) for cutting and an additional amount for cooling, depending on your pump model. In most installations, tap water used in conjunction with a water softener (if needed) is adequate. Water tests will be done prior to install. - Foundation: A solid start begins with a solid foundation! This goes for your waterjet, too. A strong foundation, free of cracks, and at the proper thickness will ensure you get the most out of the machine.

What abrasives do we suggest? We recommend garnet abrasive. It’s a naturally occurring mineral that is sorted by size. Most of our customers use an 80-mesh abrasive. However, there are finer abrasives available. The finer abrasives are more common in the glass industry but can be used by anyone who would prefer a smoother cut. #flowwaterjet #waterjetcutting #garnetabrasive
