Pitch decks for startups: Pre-seed, Seed, Series A, Series B+ | Strategist, Entrepreneur, ENFJ

When is your pitch deck ready? Run it through these 6 simple tests. 👇 1️⃣ Skim Test: Each slide should have a “power statement” that represents the key message. If someone skimmed the power statements, they should have a high-level understanding of the business. 2️⃣ Flow Test: After the Skim Test, make sure your slides are in the best order for storytelling. If necessary, reshuffle the slides to enhance the story. 3️⃣ Micro Story Test: The pitch deck should convey 3 micro stories: an overview of the opportunity, a clear explanation of the financials, and info that builds credibility. 4️⃣ Design Test: More is not more. Remove anything that doesn’t enhance the story: reduce text, eliminate busy graphics, and increase negative space. 5️⃣ Slide Test: If you have more than 13 slides, decide which slides can be eliminated or merged together. Hint: you don’t need 3 slides about your product. 6️⃣ Question Test: You want investors to ask qualifying questions, not clarifying questions. Therefore, remove anything in the deck that is confusing and will cause an investor to waste time with the wrong questions. I'm rooting for you! Follow for more pitch deck tips. DM me for a 1-on-1 pitch deck review. #startup #pitchdeck #founders
