We are so excited to kick off Fund Five by announcing our support of Bereave!
We came. We saw. We raised. We came to the understand the broken system of loss - the near endless impediments to peacefully navigating the loss of a loved one. We saw so many of you generously come to us with your stories, your ideas, your vulnerability. We saw how critical your workplace experience was to your grief journey. We saw how wholly unprepared managers and companies are to support their teammates in these life moments. We raised this round of pre-seed funding to change the game - to help companies understand the impact of loss and grief on their employees and what it means to their business. To empower them to shed the ways of the past and show up in supportive, human ways when their teammates need it most. Our funding was led by Bloomington-based paragraph and I'm not sure we could have found a more perfect fit in a partner. Flywheel Fund and IU Ventures Angel Network participated along with a handful of repeat and new angels. We are eternally grateful for all of them - they are the change makers that every company wants to work with. Press release in comments. We're just getting started. There's so much to do. So many of you already have put your mark on this company, this mission. We can't solve death. But we will improve the way we experience it. More to come, lots to share, so many to thank. You've humbled and encouraged us. Thank you for being part of the ride.

🍬Pat East's entrepreneurial journey started in grade school with a pack of gum. It's really been popping since then. 💡Leading Bloomington's The Mill, the largest co-working space in the state, East saw so many innovative ideas come to life. The Mill sought additional funding for its diverse startups and Flywheel Fund was born. 🚀 With The Mill’s growth and Flywheel’s focus on inclusive investment, Pat’s initiatives have garnered support from the Economic Development Administration and the IEDC, fueling economic growth and innovation across the state. 🔗 Read more about Pat's journey and the success stories of several other Hoosier founders in our Entrepreneurial Indiana Yearbook: https://lnkd.in/g9WEzC7u
