Congratulations to Nathalie Means Henderson, Ph.D., a graduate of our first Emerging Leaders cohort back in 2012, on being named as the new CEO of KIPP St. Louis!
💙✨We are thrilled to welcome Nathalie Means Henderson, Ph.D. as the CEO of KIPP St. Louis. Dr. Henderson is a visionary leader with a proven track record of improving student achievement. Currently serving as Executive Vice President for Corps Member and Alumni Leadership Development at Teach For America, she has spent her career advancing educational excellence. Previously, as Chief Schools Officer for Indianapolis Public Schools, she led efforts to increase graduation rates and improve state test scores. As Area Superintendent in Metro Atlanta, she oversaw 18 schools and successfully reduced the number of failing schools from six to one. This selection follows a rigorous and inclusive national search, with invaluable input from students, families, staff, and community members. As we welcome Dr. Henderson, we also extend our deepest gratitude to Kelly Garrett for his years of dedicated service to KIPP St. Louis. Kelly will remain with us through July 1, 2025, ensuring a seamless leadership transition. Dr. Henderson joins KIPP St. Louis at a time of incredible momentum. Through our strategic alignment to the KIPP Foundation, we’re rolling out high-quality curricula, creating joyful and rigorous classrooms, and driving meaningful learning gains. Dr. Henderson is ready to build on this progress and accelerate our impact. She has already begun meeting with our leadership team and will be engaging with the broader community in the weeks ahead. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Henderson to the KIPP St. Louis family! 💙✨ #KIPPStLouis #EducationLeadership #StudentSuccess #WelcomeDrHenderson

This is the final week to apply for our 2025-26 cohort of Leadership St. Louis! LSL is not your average professional development program. It will challenge your thinking, immerse you in our region, connect you with individuals you might otherwise never have met, and expose you to new ideas and perspectives. Apply now: https://lnkd.in/et2ivwqV If you're still on the fence, check out what 2023-24 LSL graduate Deanna Finch had to say about her experience in the video below. (Deanna is also a graduate of our Women In Leadership program, a great example of how each of our FOCUS programs can uniquely guide you on your leadership journey.)

Happy #314Day! At FOCUS, we're proud to be #STLMade, educating and connecting the leaders who make our region stronger. Our programs take leaders out into community and help them gain a deeper understanding of St. Louis by exploring the issues, institutions, and systems shaping it. Thank you to all our community partners who make this work possible, from hosting our cohorts to presenting at program days to nominating candidates. We also believe in celebrating those making a positive difference in our community, and that's exactly what we'll be doing at our 28th Annual What's Right with the Region Awards on May 15. All in the community are invited, and we hope you will join us! Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gjCfWR35
